I just clicked "show results" because nothing really can be said yet. Probably 8th gen but it's too early to say yet. Plus look at what the 3DS has brought us. Some of the best handheld games ever. AS for the consoles, they all are really far behind. Almost picked Gen 6 but that started online console gaming with the Dreamcast and then the XBOX perfecting it, so hard to say.

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

Zelda was seen as an exciting start for the Wii.

And I'm not saying the whole 8th gen will necessarily be lacklustre, and I'm just saying that so far it's lacklustre.

But it seems you can only use 1 console to base this off of from 1 gen and thats the Wii And its best game at launch was a 6th gen game no matter what way you look at it and the other one was only fun for awhile and was more of a tech demo imo.

I'm not basing it off one console. I'm basing it off all three 7th gen vs all three 8th gen. Wii's just the one that tips the balance because the rest all had mediocre openings. Whether you consider Wii Sports a tech demo or not, you cannot deny its impact. And Zelda was not 6th gen; it debuted on a 7th gen console.

Its impact for me was really very small and im getting much more use out of my PS4 atm then what i was with my Wii when i got it.

But like i said all this comes back to the Wii and it was more so got to do with Nintendo using the Wii Remote that made Wii sports have such a big impact then the game itself imo as the game was only okish at best. and Zelda still launched on 6th gen hardware looking exactly the same pretty much as it did on the Wii it was in development for the GC before the wii by every defenition its a 6th gen game.

Anyway like everyone has said its way to early to call this gen but so far for me its showing good signs but it seems like your just not happy that Nintendo is not living up to what they done last gen? (Even if imo i think they are when it comes to games anyway even if that doesnt include success so i dont really see the problem people are having this gen).

Wii Sports was a pop culture phenomenon; can't say the same about anything this gen.

If TP launched on GC first I'd agree, but it didn't, it debuted as 7th gen.

And it's not just that Nintendo hasn't lived up to last gen so far, it's also that Sony and MS have not improved on their weak starts to last gen.

But other then Nintendo breaking the mold last gen thanks to motion control this is how its always been and once again i just dont feel that wii sports had much of an impact on me, but thats just me.

Plenty of other consoles have launched with genuinely exciting titles; Mario 64, Halo, Super Mario World...

This time, there were no really exciting launch titles across any of the consoles.

Yes and the x1 launched with dead rising and the ps4 with killzone, maybe you might not find them games exciting but i bet the are others who did.

Dead Rising 3 and Killzone Shadowfall will never go down in gaming history the way Mario 64 or Halo: Combat Evolved did.

True but its still too early to say this gen lacks excitement imo cos that assumtion can only be based on the wii u since its the only nextgen console thats been out more then 6 months.

It is till early, yes, but I can safely say that launch and first 5 months of PS4/Xbone lack excitement.

Thats In your opinion cos like i said ive gotten plenty of excitement out of my PS4 since it launched and im sure many an X1 user feels the same too

Of course it's my opinion, why else would I express it?

Except its like your expressing it as if its facts and clearly its not

I never expressed it as a fact. You misinterpreted.

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but generation 6 was disappointing; having to watch all those companies fold, and many of the other big names prior to Gen 6 compromised their old ways - budgets went up, creativity went down.

hope e3 can give life back
