Forums - Sony - The Vita is failing because it doesn't appeal to the handheld market

I think it'll get a price drop at E3. But the software you said is happening, and there is meant to be a new Invizimals TV show. Think it was made for the Southern European market last year and would need translating, but I can't say Invizimals appeals to me personally enough to really look into haha.

The big one for me is it is the only way you can play the real Football Manager on the move. And speaking of Football Manager, it's time to go and set it all up :D

So what I got from this is the OP is a conforming sheep of society and is too sensitive/scared/paranoid to what total strangers think of him.

Im well above 16 and still play my 3DS and PS VITA in public, and guess what I got a gf who hates gaming and she don't give a fuck.

The PSP was bad ass not because of PS2 being huge but because smart phones and tablets were not mainstream then. Most people that I know used a PSP for music and videos and ironically emulating Nintendo games lol.

I was mocked growing up for playing video games. Never bothered me because who cares what such people thought. Not about to start caring now .

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

- C.S. Lewis, "On Three Ways of Writing for Children, from On Stories"

One of my favorite Lewis quotes. I think OP, as well most people who enjoy playing video games as a hobby, can really take it to heart.

I play my Vita on the bus home. It doesn't really make a difference to me what a bunch of strangers think of me.

Although I do agree that price, AAA games, and public perception has sabotaged any chance Vita had at success.

Sony needs to make these a thing. Seriously it appeals to those who game and those who enjoy Sony's smartphones

And yes Im aware there first attempt at this failed but it couldnt come close to PSP quality games.

You are probably right! Though I wish the reason why no one used a portable device here in Argentina was because it makes them look like "kids".

Sadly, that's not the case. No one plays with their portable devices here because of the high amount of criminals on the streets.

Agreed! I think Sony should make a smartphone for their next handheld and have exclusive games to it and have like some sort of controller accessory with every purchase

This.  Something along the lines of a Sony Xperia Vita etc...

I'm embarrassed that so many people are embarrassed of playing a 3DS and/or Vita in public.

Its not about embarrasment.. Its about not destroying our, slim but still existing, chances to pick up a girl... Believe it or not but "he's got To be a gamer" is not that high on a list for women what they want in a man..
