Forums - Sales Discussion - Namco not happy with PS3 sales!!!

Well. considering that there are

We've seen little indication Namco can move units on a non-Sony platform (and no indication of it from Koei), though Bandai may have a fighting chance on Wii.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in all of this. My guess is that a lot of companies are at a loss of what system to put games on. Right now it seems as though the 360 is getting all of the action, even though the games and hardware don't sell so well in Japan. Maybe that's how it'll be in the long run.

Shane it isn't the brand of the system but the user base. Selling 200,000 on the GC is like selling 1 million on the PS3.

Considering Bandais Posotion in the US-Anime Market (where they will be handled by Geneon (previously Pioneer) again) they will probably go multi plattformto control the risks. They do no longer look at the japanese market alone.

I would say they japanese situation becomes clear: Wii and handhelds will be the plattforms of choice for the next time. PS-3 only with the Xbox 360, PC and perhaps Wii for the international market. The PS-3 is too much of a risk alone.

Not so much, as it was thought that this game would sell hardware. So they thought that it would also push PS3 sales through the roof. But, as mentioned before that means it is a $660 game, and very few people will pay that for one game.

It is the brand of the system because people buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games. That's why you see Wii Sports at 1.5 million and the closest third party game in 8th at 120k. I'd take Namco seriously as a US presence, but not so much Bandai.
