well, this officially seals the deal

Game, set, and match.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I think it was sealed when Toshiba themselves decided to call it quit.

In fact, I would looove to see Paramount to stand by their old statement. I hate PR moves claiming it was for the good of the public to move to HD-DVD.

Flawless victory

How surprising that they are going to support the only surviving HD format!

In other news, the sun is hot.

Also Universal:

"The path for widespread adoption of the next-generation platform has finally become clear. The emergence of a single, HD format is cause for consumers, as well as the entire entertainment industry, to celebrate."

"it's time now to turn the focus on releasing new and catalog titles on Blu-ray, Kornblau said."

Did Captain Obvious start this thread?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Seriously, what did you all expect studios to do?

"I think it was sealed when Toshiba themselves decided to call it quit."

What a Captain Obvious comment.

And the rest of your comment shows you care more about bashing HD-DVD than praising Blu-Ray. A lot of threads here are coming across like that.
