All Wii U stages will have Final Destination forms making it ideal for no item matches and no stage hazard. This is actually a really cool addition for the game in my opinion. However, I don't remember Sakurai mentioning it for 3DS version... Did anyone remember if he said 3DS will have it too?

I don't recall him mentioning it, no.

I do think it is unfortunate though that there are no additional floating platforms to make room for more varied playstyles in the "For Glory" mode. Hopefully the final version will have 0-3 platforms spawning randomly- or stage dependently.

Having all the stages have a Battlefield form would probably be better overall, yes.
