Forums - Nintendo - Smash on 3DS releases first and has it's own unique game mode. Does Nintendo realize the message that gives about Wii U?

*facepalm*

Wii U version definitely won't have any exclusive game modes.

Yeah really! I can already see a sort of God mode where a fifth player with the gamepad can alter and interact with the stage, like creating and moving platform, spawning items and enemys, and messing with the Camera among other things to keep the fighters on their toes!

With bosses confirmed, it would be funny if a fifth player can control the Yellow Devil or Ridley. But I don't think that's the direction they'll take.

Honestly I think I'll stay away from discussions about the Wii U version of Smash Bros for the next six months. There's a lot of cynicism flying around about it, and it's not going to die down on its own. It's obvious to me that Nintendo is focusing on selling the 3DS version now since that's coming first. They don't want to make the Wii U version sound more appealing because they don't want people to decide to wait for it. Once the 3DS version has been out for a bit and winter is coming, they'll shift focus to the Wii U version and HOLY SHIT everyone is gonna lose their minds about how great it looks and how it has some awesome exclusive gameplay mode(s) absent from the 3DS version. People will complain that this content should have been in the 3DS version because they already bought that one.

Then these people will buy the Wii U version, anyway.

Around the Network

Naturally, it would take less time to develop for 3DS... Remember, Nintendo is new to this HD thing
