Who says it's late, rather than simply not yet ready? Would the better decision be to sit on the 3DS version for months instead, only to release it at the same time and therefore risk additional cannibalization?

Who s to say the Wii u version on t be ready or that they will do any extra work on it after the 3ds version is released - DKTF was delayed 4 months but it had nothing to do with it being ready - they moved it back to fill in yet another huge software gap

Nintendo delays games for various reasons - not all of them due to the game bing ready or not
