Forums - Nintendo - Mario Kart 8 looks fantastic! Now market the f#¢k out of it!

I even remember some nintendo fans going around posting that cinemablend article while smirking PS and xbox fans at the same time ...

Overzealous fans are a small minority.

720p was always the logical target; every Wii U game by Nintendo to date has been 720p, save for Wind Waker HD.

And what exactly is impressive about the graphics here? Textures? Lighting? AA?

Who exactly are you aiming your comment towards?

The OP:
"the devs have [made] a game that is so aesthetically pleasing that it is making people second guess just how powerful the Wii U is"

The graphics are very cartoonish but Mario karts have been fractionally fun to play. I wouldn't say it's a system seller though. Nintendo doesn't do too well with advertising like sony and ms but we'll see. Maybe the poor wii u sells will make them go all out. It'd be great if they did.

Watch the % by which Wii U hardware rises the week it comes out. ;)

I don't know ... I'd be willing to bet that watch dogs might be able to take away some steam from the MK8 since it's literally releasing just a day before it.

If Nintendo markets Mario Kart 8 as well as Mario Kart 7, color me surprised. They'll probably have some boring Disney Channel "star" play it and upload that to YouTube. Then maybe they'll run the commercial a total of two times.

If Nintendo doesn't do this right they are screwing themselves.

What don't you know? Whether or not Mario Kart 8 is a system seller? Well I'll be proving that it is come May 30th! ^_^

All I can say is, watch that %. ;)

And Watch Dogs is 3 days before MK8, isn't it? The 27th and the 30th? Plus they're not exactly pitched at an identical demographic range...

@Bold Good question ...

MK8 will be a system seller but to what effect if watch dogs is close to it ? I'd be willing to say that watch dogs might marginally water down MK8's system selling capabilities ...

After checking out wikipedia again your right about watch dogs being 3 days earlier but as far as being not pitched to an identical demographic, your right about that too but most gamers are actually adults while having tons of common games so their more similar than not. Economics would also tell us that these games are going to be pitted against each other because they're both high profile AAA games released in a similar time frame trying to fight for break even in this industry.
