Forums - Gaming - Xbox One to Beat PS4 November NPD and in the Future From Now On (in 2014)

I have no doubts it sells systems. If you're into sim baseball, it's been one of only 2 options on PS3 last gen and is the only current option this gen. But huge system seller was used to describe it before, and I disagree with that. It's an extremely niche franchise, even in the US.

I mean, if Xbone somehow got the only NHL sim on the market and I called it "a huge system seller", I think many here would rightfully laugh at me and prove me wrong.

NPD is only in regards to the US correct? Then NHL isn't a great comparison since it is much bigger in Canada than it is in the US. It has the smallest fanbase out of the 4 major sports in the US. But you are right that The Show won't move as many systems as people are claiming. It will definitely move some since it is the only next-gen baseball game but it is a niche game.

I think by now we could all just do Toastboys predictions for him.

I think it will win March NPD, maybe April. Then the PS4 will take back over.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Well both sides have things in hiding still. I'm sure both consoles will get their massive heavy hitters in 2015. First year for console's generally are weak, but the next year is generally better. I think had Microsoft launched it globally like Ps4 initially it would've passed it, but I feel like Ps4 will get it in the long run.

Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

Reported for calling toastboy an author.

As badgenomes  defence lawyer , I would like you to take into account the uproar that would have occured if the defendant had made  a true definition.

I would also like it to be put on the record , that since the defendant is a known cheap skate this was done Pro Bono.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Honestly, I think Sony has a good shot at winning NPD. They seem to have shipped a crapload of systems last month. Amazon seemed to have an almost unlimited supply, even though it was obvious they were flying off the shelves (it only took two days to reach #1 for March sales.)  The PS4 has also had two SKUs at numbers 1 and 2 at Gamestop.

Um haven't you heard? Even though it never gave PS3 a week over week boost when it released, apparently MLB The Show is a "huge system seller". It comes out in May, right? Seems Xbone is shitbaked in the US in May.

Dont underestimate The Show. I know people waiting for its release to buy a PS4. And one more thing, It's the ONLY Baseball simulator available on any console.

ok i agree with you

About people laughing at him any way.

Get what in the long run? Also the PS4 is outselling the X1 in pretty much every territory, how would that have been any different if the X1 launched in more countries? You are new here so let me just say that the X1 is available to 80-90% of past Xbox buyers, the missing countries would not have close to made up the 2.6 million difference between the X1 and PS4. ;)

The X1 will win March but after that I don't see them winning any month until there's an official price cut. It can't ride on Titanfall's coattails anymore, and the games you listed (QB, SO) and Windows Apps are not system sellers (of they were, Windows phone would not be in dire straits).

PS4 will have exclusive marketing for Watchdogs and Destiny, a good deal of hype over VR, UC+The Order, and most importantly a lower price and the best version of pretty much every multiplat. Even at $399 I thin the X1 would have a hard time beating it. At best it'd be parity whoch would still be a huge blow to MS (compared to last gen$

No i agree with his statement that it will move consoles, but not to the level of a Titanfall.

I find it quite amusing to read these kind of threads over and over from the Xbone crowd, grasping onto some hope that somehow the Xbone isn't as bad as it is.

Xbox isn't even going to pull out the winner in the March sales stats, never mind from here on out.

Microsoft needs that "Intelliroom" tech to pan out in order to regain that "WoW" factor over Morpheous at this point, but pico projectors are still not cheap enough and that tech only works in a dark room.

I also find it interesting the Xboners call Baseball a niche sport, its America's Passtime, and Japan's favorite sport, in what way WON"T MLB The Show 14 not drive PS4 sales?

Wait till commericals start airing of MLB 14, the PS3 version looks next gen amazing almost.

I'm a 10 year Xbox Live convert to Ps4 this generation. The only reason I could see staying in the Xbox enviroment was my friends, but at some point you gotta start thinking on your own...

Xbox will be behind and god knows maybe even flop out this gen just based on who gave it life, that posioned boardroom family that thought it was a good idea to put all that crap into the console, and that we all WANTED always on DRM and was telling us we HAD to have ALWAYS ON Kinect. Regardless of who is in control now, the people who built the console were clueless as far as what gamers and consumers wanted, and thats the soul the Xbox One can't shake.  7 years between MS Xbox consoles, and they launched the Xbone with a WORSE UI than the 360 it was replacing...  That alone should be enough to walk away from... Look what MS are doing with WIndows 8 and closing the enviroment, have you ever looked at Sony's use of open source libraries on the ps4?

Neither of them were giving us or promising any backward compatability, if my current Xbox library had worked on Xbone, I might even be inclined to get one, but to start over with an underpowered spy box to the ps4, why bother, for Titanfall, Ryse, Dead Rising and Killer Instinct? Who are they going to get to make exclusives now at this point besides thier own internal studios?

I know 4 xbox one owners personally, all of them say they love their consoles, so no complaints there, but i'll tell you this, not ONE of them bought Titanfall.  None of them like it apparently, 2 of them wouldn't even download the beta. And they are ALL CoD, Battlefield players, which i was TOTALLY shocked about. I figured they all would get it, but 0/4. I said they are making Microsoft executives cry! LoL.
