Forums - Gaming - No Wii U news in a while...

Since that Quality of life presentation back a while ago.

Worried? I am.

Microsoft and Sony have just launched two big selling games, which pushed the next gen console sales even further.

Nintendo are... chilling..?

Are they preparing for a MASSIVE E3 blowout?!

They have no major game (I believe) in the pipeline until Mario Kart Wii U.

So you'd think they'd bombard us with previews and other marketing stuffs.
They so far have just announced the special edition of MK8.

At EGX Rezzed in Birmingham this week, there was 0 wii u presence.

The only nintendo presence was Pokemon x/y tournaments and retro games section.

They're not fighting anymore, they're just hopping through

Is the beginning of the end of wii u nigh?

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

The Wii U's entire life cycle will probably be like this. Always a game or two here and there before the next dry spell.

I clearly don't understand what they are doing. They promise no droughts and we're between one. Zero marketing. Zero sense.

Iwata will be fired in june.

If so, it will be a token gesture that will change nothing (which is why it shouldn't happen).

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I expect one in April for the DS and GBA games

I don't know. Something is happening. The Iwata from Wii/DS era is not the same as WiiU/3DS. Investors are starting to lose patience.

There simply isn't any news to report. There aren't many new 3rd party titles being announced, and their next major 1st party titles is a little under 2 months away. They'll do an NDC to promote the MarioKart launch, but save any future announcements until after that game comes out so they have content to promote at E3.

I expect a fair amount of news at E3. But realistically, there is only so much one publisher can make and promote. Nintendo either needs to get 3rd parties on board with their consoles or add 5-10 development teams so that their consoles are self-sustaining by 1st party alone.

Although, in all honesty there isn't a lot being announced for One or 4, either. They both had their major spring title come out, Nintendo's isn't ready yet. That's pretty much the only difference.

For me, 50 + unity games including Abe New n' Tasty was news. I'm sick to death of "AAA" 3rd party developers with their same old same old titles. The sony and microsoft legions of fans who support their "mothers/ shiney plastic box" and praise MS or sony like a god even though they only buy 3rd party titles. That makes no sense.

I'm fine with my library as is, with MK8, Bayonetta 2 and SSB, Project CARS all upcoming to add to what I have Mario U + Luigi U, Rayman legends, Black Ops II (yeah I needed just one of those COD games), Wonderful 101 etc etc and what I will buy, Mario 3D world, Tropical freeze.I mean, how much time can you possibly spend playing these games?

I feel like people who need constant updates and attention with a new game every week are ridiculous. A Wii U (which has the best exclusives) with a PC is by far the best combo and I have 100 times more games than I could ever need.

There is a MK info dump later this week (I think Wednesday but it could be Thursday)

Other than that, what exactly do you expect?

Also, I will say once again, that if you expect Iwata to be fired, you don't understand Japanese business. He may step down (but I doubt it) but he will likely not be fired...

Finally, I would like to point out that after Mario Kart, there is a good amount of games announced which should leave us with around 1 big game per month
