As if no other games are coming out for PS4 And you better be joking about the bolded point. It's getting really obnoxious seeing this excuse repeatedly. It's been explained several times that while XBone isn't officially released in many European countries, retailers are still distributing them to those countries because they control the stock. The countries XBone is available in right now are countries where the overwhelming bulk of Xbox sales come from anyway. Not to mention, countries like Costa Rica, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, etc have a combined population less than the state of California (imagine how silly you would sound if you said "XBone would sell 10s of thousands more units if it released in Texas!). Looking at pure "amount of countries" numbers is useless without factoring in population. I could start my own country right now, with just me, but that's not gonna actually boost sales numbers much, even though "XBone is in more countries now". |
A lot of them seem to assume that if the Xbox One were officially available in those countries that it would sell just as well as the PS4 when the X1 is clearly not selling as well as the PS4 in every country it's currently released in. What do they honestly expect is going to change? Weren't a lot of them the same ones who said that it didn't matter if the X1 didn't officially launch in those countries because Europeans would simply import them or drive across borders for it?
Also, mentioning games like Gears of War and Titanfall 2 (which will likely be multiplatform) that are two years or more away is not helping the X1's case right now nor games like Kinect Sports: Rivals which no one really seems to be talking about outside of hardcore Xbox fan circles. Fable Legends is rumored to be well over a year away yet and those same rumors also claim that the next Halo won't be out until Holiday 2015. I also like the mention of "Japanese Xbox One exclusives" as if the PS4 won't have any. We just got official word that Natural Doctrine, a strategy JRPG exclusive to PlayStation platforms, will be released in North America and Europe this Fall.
This is largely the same kind of talk I heard from Nintendo fans this time last year. All of these games were going to make the difference and the Wii U was going to soar up the sales charts. Every exclusive title announced was some kind of system seller to them. That Nintendo knew what they were doing and that by the end of the year they'd say "I told you so". Hasn't worked out for them so far. By the way, I mean no disrespect to Nintendo fans. That wasn't a stab at them. Rather using an example of the ones I heard saying such things to make the point that it's eerily similar to what I'm hearing some Microsoft fans saying now.
