Subscription fees are a big no-no in my book. Besides the obviously cool universe, it looks like it offers very little that other MMO's don't. It's probably a no-go for me.

Why r u against subs? It has its pros and cons but one big pro is that it's ensures that more people are dedictated and serious than it would be for a FTP.

Plus FTP MMO means pay to win (although personally that would be a positive since I have a very high income and comparibly little time).

For me personally, it's about actually finding an MMO that is worth the money. Paying a monthly fee for grinding and suffering through fetch quests and waiting for rare spawns is simply not my idea of a worthwhile investment.

Well that problem is the same for sub based MMO as well as FTP since both types want to keep the player invested as long as possible. So both types will want the player to endlessly grind and get addicted to mundane tasks.

Or do you argue that the FTP model somehow supports a less grinding gameplay structure?

No, not at all, I've played FTP ones as well. The main difference is that in FTP games, the quests and designs are even less inspired, so FTP are a step down in my opinion.

So the truth is you are a bit split about subs versus FTP?

Have you ever played a sub based MMO for any length of time? (perhaps one of the Norway made ones, Anarchy Online and Conan )

I'm loving it so far. Just about to hit lvl 10, servers are down for maintenance to prep for hard launch but I am really enjoying it. Good exploration, love the skill system. Feels solid.

Yeah it sux servers are down for a few hours tonite. I was planning to play (like I do every night), patched up but then it said servers are down for maintenance. I wanna play so bad.

I'm level 10.

yeah i spent a lot of time crafting early. I love it, its so deep and actually beneficial. So much going for it right now. Going to dive into PvP a bit once i hit 10 but so far im loving it. I dont know why peeople complain about the inventory so much though, 60 slots in the bank, you can feed your horse to carry items, and can craft with bank items. 120 slots instantly with no need to worry about crafting, auto sorts loot for you too. strange complaints from what im reading online.

Tried WOW, Lineage, Priston Tale, Age of Conan and Dark Age of Camelot.

DAOC was the best. I'm happy it's the same guys making Elder Scrolls.

Do you play a lot of games at all nowadays (single player or anything)?

Yeah, Camelot was easily my favorite! I'm not playing a lot of games right now, finished Shadowrun Rising and The Banner Saga a while ago, just bought Gran Turismo 6 but I'm very disappointed after a few hours in. I'm considering re-installing Neverwinter Nights 2 though and it's time for the yearly bout of Baldur's Gate I and II and the Icewind Dale games as well! And you?

Cool. R those games you playing on Steam?

I have recently played Banished. Tried Bioshock Infinite the other day but I am very worned out on dumbed down AAA games. I'm very far from the console mindset right now. Now it's only EOS to get a good head start in the game.

But now that EOS servers are down I'm so frustrated. I wanna play so bad. Tonight. I don't know what to do?

Yeah, crafting rules in the game. It's quite similar to Skyrim too (actually lots of things are IMO). You can benefit from it from the very start. I will invest a lot into crafting between being out on the field.

Got Neverwinter Nights 2 on steam, the others are on disc, but I want to buy the HD remakes digitally, playing in 800x600 is a pain on a 27" monitor!

I never got into Neverwinter Nites sadly but I'm a huge Dragon Age fan. I have been missing the Dragon Age atmosphere a lot lately. Inquisition is my most anticipated game (at least from AAA games).

800x600 sounds weird. Is that the highest res of the original version?
