Why r u against subs? It has its pros and cons but one big pro is that it's ensures that more people are dedictated and serious than it would be for a FTP.
Plus FTP MMO means pay to win (although personally that would be a positive since I have a very high income and comparibly little time).

For me personally, it's about actually finding an MMO that is worth the money. Paying a monthly fee for grinding and suffering through fetch quests and waiting for rare spawns is simply not my idea of a worthwhile investment.

Well that problem is the same for sub based MMO as well as FTP since both types want to keep the player invested as long as possible. So both types will want the player to endlessly grind and get addicted to mundane tasks.
Or do you argue that the FTP model somehow supports a less grinding gameplay structure?

No, not at all, I've played FTP ones as well. The main difference is that in FTP games, the quests and designs are even less inspired, so FTP are a step down in my opinion.
