Not it will not, the PS4 is just much more powerful and all major game engines will be able to use this extra power. But there won't be a resolution difference anymore because of the new SDK, but likely better textures, effects and frame rate.

Doesnt seem like people accept the difference going on posts in this thread. Which is a bit weird because the evidence is there.
I mean just about every multiplat game looks better on PS4. Not to mention the technical achievenment of infamous SS.
So will the difference dissapear? Err people first need to accept that there is a difference in the first place.
The gap might lessen, but it will literally never go away unless devs go for parity or the game is not very demanding. It's a well known fact now that the PS4 has a considerably more capable GPU, and a more ideal memory setup. Get used to it.
The gap in ABSOLUTE terms will never disappear; however it may get smaller in RELATIVE terms. Let me illustrate;
Let's assume,
PS4 current performance : 160
XB1 current performance : 100
Let's increase the performance of both machines, but add that XB1 has more room to grow, kind of catching up in a way:
PS4 current performance : 160 * 1.6 = 256 (60% in relative terms, 94 in absolute terms)
XB1 current performance : 100 * 1.8 = 180 (80% in relative terms, 80 in absolute terms)
As you see, the absolute gap has not diminished, but increased on the contrary from 60 to 76! However, the relative gap has actually decreased from 60% (160/100 - 1) to only 42% (256 / 180 -1) !
Playstation 5 vs XBox Series Market Share Estimates
Regional Analysis (only MS and Sony Consoles)
Europe => XB1 : 23-24 % vs PS4 : 76-77%
N. America => XB1 : 49-52% vs PS4 : 48-51%
Global => XB1 : 32-34% vs PS4 : 66-68%
The Gap will widen.
Just wait 2-3 years when GPGPU compute will become a standard PS4 programing practice...
Nope, the PS4 has the better hardware specs this gen. I do think that we will, same as last gen see some amazing exclusives on both systems. Both Sony and MS will update the developer tool set to bring further improvements and they are equally as good as each other in this respect.

I'm not sure but inFAMOUS seems to put a new gap between them... and MGS have a bigger gap than the launch games.
And PS4 have Asyncronous Computing to be used yet (no game uses the GPU at full yet)... Xbone have what?
hahhaha hell no, and still people think the inferiority of the xbone is a software problem ? hehe sorry to disappoint you but is not ;)
I own infamous and on my 60" plasma it is a great looking game, but it isn't amazing. There are some great lighting effects, but it can't keep a steady framerate. Take a ride on the monorail, infamous1 & 2 had a steadier framerate than second son. I think it would have been better if Sucker Punch just locked the framerate at 30 and left it alone.
Honestly the only game to "wow" me so far has been Ryse. We all know the framerate is slow, but at least its pretty steady 99% of the time and certain scenes on that game are incredible. Killzone is also a game that looks amazing in parts and keeps a steady framerate.
Only time will truly tell if we have a noticeable persistent gap in games in the future. Launch games never are a good indication of a system's true potential.
