Should Sony offer an official Vita/PS4 SKU for $500?

Yessssss! 60 78.95%

Noooooo :( 6 7.89%

Meh 10 13.16%

They don't need to do a bundle, but a nice little rebate would be a good incentive for people to buy both.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

I dont think it would be a bad idea for places like gamestop or amazon to offer that kind of bundle. It would only lead to more game sales.

I think they should definitely do a bundle like that in Japan. Elsewhere, I just can't see it being popular enough to justify bothering with, at least not until the Vita and memory cards are better priced.

I'm sure an 8gb memory card could be thrown in as well, and having the bundle in existence in and of itself should hopefully help with the popularity issue, especially if they bundle a game that uses the Vita and PS4 in an interactive manner.

I'd still say Vita software would be an issue.  Very few people are going to want to pay at least an extra $100 just for remote play even if it came with a game that was 'interactive' as you described.  The game would also have to be new so people would be excited to play it, and if so a game like that hasn't even been announced yet let alone released so how far into the future are we talking?

The only way I think this bundle would be a success is if sales in the West were already picking up thanks to a big release like GTA: San Andreas Stories orsomething like that, but Sony don't seem to care enough to make those kind of deals anymore.

If they can take a bit of a hit and sell the Vita at only $100 on top of the PS4 making the total $500, then I definitely think they should do that. I cant even explain how cool it is playing any PS4 game via remote play on my Vita.... and on top of that there are some great games available on the Vita even without the PS4 library.

I doubt it would be particularly effective in the EU/NA, but it's certainly something they should look in for Japan. The PS4 is going to need help sustaining sales until it can get some big titles over there, seeing as the Vita is doing surprisingly well in japan it wold be mutually beneficial to both systems.

Yeah, there would have to be some really innovative software for it to really work, but if Sony is really serious about picking up Vita sales, they could get a big first-party studio (Naughty Dog maybe?) to make a game that makes good use of both consoles.

So Sony is doing amazingly well with the PS4 at the $400 pricepoint, but the Vita is suffering horribly, with a very low install base. Should Sony offer an official bundle SKU, almost like how Microsoft has the X1 and Kinect bundled? Sony has stressed the compatibility and interaction between the two consoles, so offering a $500 SKU with both included would help expand both of them, the Vita especially. Sony would be taking a loss on each one sold, but can make it up through software sales on both the Vita and PS4, and a larger Vita install base would mean more developers wanting to make games for it, which in turn means more software sales and profit. If Sony keeps working on increasing integration between the two, I think it could be a possibility. Thoughts?

I do believe it will sell like candy. But $500, that a huge risk for Sony, right now they can't take any risks with their financial status.

Well they'd sell more vitas, but would they make more money?

I fear a us gamer getting even a free Vita with their ps4 will just stick to remote play and ps+ games. No reason to spend additional money on Vita, unlike a gamer just buying the system.

As opposed to a whole SKU and packaging; might test the water with simple promotions that buy a Vita and get $25, $50 or even $100 off the PlayStation 4 to see if it moves the needle at all.

That said even if I am loving my Vita, I understand just not many games that strike a chord with general consumers in North America.

a much, much better idea for all the reasons soundwave highlighted.

...but it should go the other way.   buy a ps4 (something lots of people will do) get $25, $50 or even $100 a psvita (something that won't happen without some incentive).

Yeah, that's an excellent alternative as well. $100 off a PS Vita would mean a ton more sales. Maybe if you register the code through Sony's site, you get it from Sony? That way, you skip the retailer, and lose less money by cutting out the middle-man
