Hmmm. Peoples taste differs. To each his own.

lol yeah... 1886 and witcher look great and i may pick em up on sale or used later, but not must buys for me... Games like the Withcer and 1886 would be must buys if they had co-op.... I'm not a fan of metal gear at all... and for a MP only game it needs to be completely epic and have big maps, and winning must actually mean something... like in Dust514 or MAG... If I was interested in shooting bots I'd play bot mode in COD or Killzone

More local co-op is really a wish for me... I take my console to various places without internet where there are friends to play.

Wonderful news! Finally, the tyrannous reign of tacked-on competitive multiplayer is over! I'm mostly a single-player guy, though I enjoy co-op. I only tend to do multiplayer competitive for fighting, racing, and party games.

I just want a racing game this generation that I can race against a friend in the same room. Burnout Paradise failed me in that last generation, least I have Mario kart can depend on.

I think the "Quality" disparity between the single player focused games vs Multiplayer ones last gen made people rethink about what is important and what means "value" for a game.

Every year we had Single player GOTY content games like GTAV,TLOU,Batman Arkham's,Skyrim,Metal gear solid 4,The walking dead and,although we had some amazing multiplayer games like Halo 3,most of the multiplayer games were annual rushed fatigued franchises.

I work in gaming retail and I can tell you right now this is a huge missed opportunity in the industry right now.  You couldn't be more right.  There is a huge group of consumers without access to great internet or more multiple consoles who want to co-op.  I litteraly see couples every day who want to play together but have very few options.

I'm confident local co-op was one of the main reasons Gears of War got so big.  The industry really needs to add more of these types of games.

With such a huge and obvious demand it does make you wonder what devs are doing not capitalising on this. I would love to play through a co-op RPG with my partner as she's a huge fan of Fantasy settings.
