Sorry. But it seems people are overreacting over all this. Point being, OR now have the funds necessary to push the tech further. No need to be cynical about all of this before we see what comes of this. The future will tell. But it's a very interesting turn of events.

Still can't wrap my head around such a weird acquisition. But hey, if it helps push VR to the mainstream, and improve the product I'm all for it. I do wonder how much the thing is going to cost in the end, though.

lol. i would think about the look as last... things first like getting better and cheaper contracts for the components, more money to build a decent amount of the first consumer version, massive advertising budget, better access to mainstream outlets, not worrying about making a profit with the hardware etc..

I really feel for those 9.5K souls that got suckered into Kickstarting that asshole, just so he can sell his company to even bigger asshole for obscene amount of money. Lesson to be learned there.

Whats the lesson? People got their dev kits or other awards and are part of the history of funding a potential life changing device.. what's the lesson to be learned? Cause isn't that whats kickstarter is about? or they wanted it to keep it as small as possible and be only one of the few thousands of people owning one and facebook ruined that?

Maybe they think they jumped the gun I think that most kickstarters expected a retail product and then later on down the road for them  to look at how do we go forward.

  It looks very much like they saw the money and jumped rather than looking at all the different financial pathways , if they needed more captal there are pathways aplenty in this low intest enviroment . The other concern is oculus becoming another data mine .
