this has been what i have been thinking i think why they didn't have a conference last year was that they revaled pretty much everything in first 6 months of 2013

Everything except SM3DW, MK8, DKCTF, and SSB4 announcements, aswell as new trailers for X, Bayo 2, Pikmin 3, etc., new details on X/Y, Dream Team, ALBW, etc., more release dates all around, and probably some other stuff I forgot, so yeah, they hardly revealed everything. :L

Well, in his defense, they told us that the new 3D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros. would be at E3 in the January Direct...the same one where they showed the first stuff for Bayonetta 2 and revealed "X," SMT X FE, and Yarn Yoshi. X/Y were revealed in January, Dream Team and ALBW and the other 3DS games were revealed prior to E3. Yes, they showed new trailers or gameplay demos and other details about games at E3 and after E3...but we're talking about brand new game reveals. At E3 they need to reveal games...like what's coming to 3DS in the 2nd half of the year other than Smash Bros. For Wii U they will probably stick with reveals and updates on previously announced games like Smash Bros., "X," Bayonetta 2, SMT X FE, Yarn Yoshi, and Zelda...but they still need to reveal some actual previously UNannounced games...at least a couple for Wii U and a bunch for 3DS.

My point was Nintendo had plenty of content to cover at E3 last year, certainly moreso than than previous years, so that had nothing to do with their decision to go with a direct instead of a conference.

I don't see any reason to have a direct before E3.

Then you must not have looked at my signature!

I agree with you on that. They had plenty of content in my opinion too. They went with a Direct cause they wanted to be in control and avoid any "live" blunders.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

Also so they could use the money normally for the press conference on them hands-on events!

Just speculation, but I agree with people who think they're switching to pattern of doing a Direct every two months instead of every month. That way they have more they can show. So that would mean one in April, and then E3. I don't know if I'd expect much from the next Direct tho...other than trailers and feature reveals for Mario Golf and Mario Kart 8, and a final Kirby trailer probably. They'll probably waste half the Direct talking about the GBA games coming to VC, NES Remix 2, and maybe have a "surprise" like Wii Sports Club Baseball or Boxing being ready. I'm really hoping they'll just save anything "major" for the E3 Direct or E3 presentation. They need to have a bigger presence this year, and I also just don't think they have anything else coming out before E3...so if it's all coming out after E3, they might as well save it FOR E3.

too be fair though SM3DW and MK8 we already knew they be there it was just showing them and giving us details for them and we knew we get something smash related so they really weren't surprises

I clarified what my point was a few post up, but I will say that E3 isn't just about surprises, atleast that's not how I think about. To me it's a gold mine filled with tons of new information on many new games all in one place! Besides, we always know another Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc., is coming anyway. In what form and with that new features though, that is the question!

I stand corrected, forgot that was coming out before E3.

I would say there will be a Direct before or during PAX east since Nintendo is skipping it.

Make it So.

Boo, looks I was wrong. Next week?

I'm going to guess we get a Direct near end of April, like maybe April 20th-28thish.
