this has been what i have been thinking i think why they didn't have a conference last year was that they revaled pretty much everything in first 6 months of 2013

Everything except SM3DW, MK8, DKCTF, and SSB4 announcements, aswell as new trailers for X, Bayo 2, Pikmin 3, etc., new details on X/Y, Dream Team, ALBW, etc., more release dates all around, and probably some other stuff I forgot, so yeah, they hardly revealed everything. :L

Well, in his defense, they told us that the new 3D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros. would be at E3 in the January Direct...the same one where they showed the first stuff for Bayonetta 2 and revealed "X," SMT X FE, and Yarn Yoshi. X/Y were revealed in January, Dream Team and ALBW and the other 3DS games were revealed prior to E3. Yes, they showed new trailers or gameplay demos and other details about games at E3 and after E3...but we're talking about brand new game reveals. At E3 they need to reveal games...like what's coming to 3DS in the 2nd half of the year other than Smash Bros. For Wii U they will probably stick with reveals and updates on previously announced games like Smash Bros., "X," Bayonetta 2, SMT X FE, Yarn Yoshi, and Zelda...but they still need to reveal some actual previously UNannounced games...at least a couple for Wii U and a bunch for 3DS.

My point was Nintendo had plenty of content to cover at E3 last year, certainly moreso than than previous years, so that had nothing to do with their decision to go with a direct instead of a conference.
