I thought I give a realistic comparison with Titanfall with high profile releases 360 had back in March 2006, when both consoles were 5 months old and both were in need of a system seller. Two games came up for 360: Ghost Recon Future Soldier and Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Fortunately enough, this comparison makes even more sense because these games are all not exclusive and had PC releases.Where as Titanfall is multiplayer heavy, Oblivion is single player heavy but GRAW filled in the gap with its competitive MP at the time.
Let us see how history compares to now.
Week 1 - 227 612
March 2006 - 427 082
Week 1/March 2006 - 327 462

USA Week 1 - 580 000
UK Week 1 - 122 878
Titanfall Week 1 Total: 902 010
GRAW + Oblivion Week 1 Total: 555 074
GRAW + Oblivion March: 754 544
Xbox 360 March 2006 Sales: 396 504
Xbox One March 2014 Sales:
Titanfall surpasses both games week 1 and beats their March total. A great start to the new generation, though a great deal of Titanfalls success comes from a massive marketing push on MS's behalf. Can anyone confirm if Titanfall numbers include the digital bundle sales?
Please discuss.
