Well that was surprising, didn't expect it so soon but I did predict a $50 pricecut before summer

I thought they would wait at least a month until stabbing the Titanfall buyers in the back...

They would be stabbed in the back regardless, just like anyone who buys an 8th gen system right now. Price cuts, remodels, bundles, etc. are inevitable throughout any and all system's life cycles.

there is a huge difference between someone buying a system then 6-12 months later a price cut or whatever comes, than someone buying a system and that stuff comes 6 days after.

Be it 5 minutes or 5 years, still backstabbed all the same.

nope  by that logic nobody would ever buy electronics in the full year or two

Yes, so all companies shouldn't cut the price of any of their products cuz its backstabbing all early consumers lol

It's not really backstabbing anyway as it's no secret that price cuts, remodels, bundles, etc. are inevitable.

They do because to them the current price is good enough for what it offers. Either that, or they just bought into the hype. Now stop nitpicking at something so insignificant!

With a free game this makes Xb one effectively equal in price to PS4. It'll be interesting to see the effect of this in the markets VGC specifically tracks.

Also this appears to be worldwide/ Here in NZ Xb one TF bundle and day one bundle (Fifa 14) are both the same price as the PS4 inFamous Bundle. And this is across all retailers. The gameless Xb one is also the same price ($50 NZ cheaper than launch price) at some retailers but over $700 at others. Other bundles, like Forza Bundle, Ryse Bundle Dead Rising Bundle are all mega expensive (>$800) at some retailers so pricing is a bit uneven. Still an Xb one + game can be had for the same price as PS4 + game, it just depends on the game.

Nice find. I need a deal like that at BestBuy so I can use my BestBuy card. That's the exact kind of deal I'm waiting for (would prefer a different game though).

good for MS lets the competition start...

Wow so PS4 and XBONE will cost the exact same price in Canada? Pretty crazy.

It's all about the game.

Who really cares either way? A price drop is good for consumers no matter why it happens.

It is too early to count any console out, especially the X1 and PS4. The 360 and Ps3 sold around 70 million plus?
We are still in the 4-6 million range this gen. There is a lot of time left.

Anyway, who really cares? Unless you have stock it really shouldn't be an issue. Fact of life - exclusives exist and always will, if you really want to play all the exclusives you must buy all the sytems! No one says you have to buy them at launch, but trust me in the long run $400 and even $500 doesn't really mean anything in a 5-7 year span.

A LOT of people care.

First of all, I do care about the features and games on PS4, being halfway through Infamous and loving it.

Though even if I did not care about the features and games on PS4, it wouldn't mean they are not there.  The PS4 can manage slightly higher resolutions and/or slightly more particle effects than the Xbox One.  The Xbox One can perform a variety of media functions, voice and sight navigation and interactions as a form of gaming input and social functions beyond what the PS4 can manage.

These are facts.  You might not care about them, and if you don't then you wont be purchasing an Xbox One.  But that doesn't mean they shouldn't be included in a pricing scheme.

I think most people really just don't care.
