Is this going to get updated or do I have to take over the league again to get it in shape?

This 100%. No offense to the current league but the previous leagues scoring method was much fairer.

What are the differences in the scoring methods?

I can see a few things that could be better, especially with regards to how much time is involved, but it doesn't seem too bad.

First off i dont agree that platinums should award points every month just for having them, ataining points once for getting the platinum should be suffice.

Second Your TA score isnt even taken into account, it therefore means you are better of consentrating on gamerscore. In the prvious league you had to be quite tactical and concentrate on getting both a good TA ratio and decent gamerscore.

Ive defo missed a few things but if Neo posts im sure he can fill you in on the rest.

I wasn't here for the old league, so idk what that looked like, but I do wish the TA score/ratio was taken more into account here. Especially now that arcade and indie games (these in particular) are given 1000GS on X1. It scews and devalues the overall worth of Gamerscore a lot, and this will only get worse as more and more indie games start flooding the market.

Difference in the previous league from this one...

Update:
Weekly updates instead of monthly...

Platinums:
1) Platinum points should only be awarded when you "take" (Meaning you attain the highest score in the league for a game) or equal an existing platinum score in the league for the game.
2) When you take or equal an exiting platinum you only get half points. Full points are for the person that gets there fastest
3) All games count for platinum as long as the gamer's score is above 700 GS in the game. (Doesn't matter how many own it).
4) Games are disqualified from platinums if more than 70% of gamers in the league have completed it (Another words, it was too easy)
5) No monthly points for holding platinums.

Gamerscore:
1) Include all achievement related games... 360, X1, Windows 8, Games for Windows, and WinPhone... The focus was including as many gamers as possible. There are lots of us with 360 backlog, and the current league says anyone who games on 360 is unwelcome.
2) 6 positions for weekly Gamerscore points: 10, 8, 6, 3, 2, 1

TA:
Same as Gamerscore but based on TA points

Races:
1) 4 weeks long
2) At least three gamers must have the game
3) If more than 70% of gamers complete the game then the race is disqualified
4) Any non-retail game is half the points as retail games

Going on TA score may not counteract the increased indie gamerscore. Indie games may often be short but some can be very difficult as well meaning high TA scores still.

People should be rewarded for getting difficult achievements, so if a particular indie game is hard or has hard achievements that's great and should be rewarded. Many of them though just have ridiculously simple achievements worth a crap load of points, and that should not be rewarded.

So yes, it would fix the problem

Weekly updates instead of monthly... Overkill imo

Platinums:
1) Platinum points should only be awarded when you "take" (Meaning you attain the highest score in the league for a game) or equal an existing platinum score in the league for the game. Agreed
2) When you take or equal an exiting platinum you only get half points. Full points are for the person that gets there fastest Agreed
3) All games count for platinum as long as the gamer's score is above 700 GS in the game. (Doesn't matter how many own it). This minus indies
4) Games are disqualified from platinums if more than 70% of gamers in the league have completed it (Another words, it was too easy) Agreed
5) No monthly points for holding platinums. Repeating yourself really, but still yes

Gamerscore:
1) Include all achievement related games... 360, X1, Windows 8, Games for Windows, and WinPhone... The focus was including as many gamers as possible. There are lots of us with 360 backlog, and the current league says anyone who games on 360 is unwelcome. I'm ok with the league just focusing on X1, but 360 could be worth including for many. The other two seem unnecessary
2) 6 positions for weekly Gamerscore points: 10, 8, 6, 3, 2, 1 I'd say 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1

TA:
Same as Gamerscore but based on TA points Yes please

Races:
1) 4 weeks long I think Seece is already doing that, since the races are monthly
2) At least three gamers must have the game 3 seems too few IMO, at least 4 is good
3) If more than 70% of gamers complete the game then the race is disqualified Same as with platinums, makes sense
4) Any non-retail game is half the points as retail games Agreed, at least for indies

We get it Angelus, you hate indies lol

You have to keep GS and TA points to 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1...

Platinums should be 10 pts to get the platinum...

The reason is balance... 24 pts + pts for every 200 GS + probable TA points at up to 24 would make it difficult for someone focused on platinums over GS to keep up...
