I think the league scoring is a bit unbalanced.
It is rewarding gamers if they don't play a single game in the month. If I go and complete 8 games I will get 40 pts per month automatically. But, if I score at least 3,200 GS and win the title as top scorer every month I will only be keeping pace with someone that has 8 platinums (And because this is at the start of the gen scoring 3,200 every month is difficult). I think people should still get monthly points for owning platinums, but it should be reduced to 2 or 3 points per platinum rather than 5.
This will also force people to buy DLC to remain competitive in the league. If one person goes and gets a higher score to take a platinum with DLC, others will be forced to as well to stay competitive.
Seems like the league caters to people who gets the most achievements in games and does not recognize gamers who constantly score a lot of GS but don't complete enough to get platinums.
Platinum games have three aspects to consider. They should be about:
- The highest score in the game
- Indicating they completed the game story/significant completion pct (maybe 700 GS minimum?)
- Whether the completion is too easy (too many gamers completed it... aka Avatar Burning Earth last generation. 1,000 GS in less than a few minutes)
