Not sure about this. They are reading minds arent they? They are assuming the if someone cant find a PS4 they will buy a ONE. Thats interesting and means my thread of 13 v 33 had a great deal of merit.
In that recent thread tough many people said that it didnt matter. Nobody who wants a PS4 would buy a ONE due to stock shortages of the PS4... they woud simply wait.
So which is it? Are PS4 sales being lost to the ONE due to shortages or arent they? If they arent then why are the sales levels of the ONE being aided?

I suspect they were misunderstood by the article author or they expressed themselves very poorly, and that what they meant was simply that PS4 shortages made XBOne sales share get higher, eventually taking the weekly and monthly leadership. Yes, a very few impatient technophiles may buy an XBOne if they can't find a PS4, but also given its price still quite high even with good offers, I'm sure that almost every XBOne buyer actually wanted it. So without shortages, PS4 sales could be higher, not taking back some mysterious "stolen" sales, but simply fully tapping its own potential. And this is also the correct thing to wish, for the good of the whole gaming market, actually even wishing each one his fav platform the leadership, we should wish Wii U to sell better too, it's a different platform, with different features, games and gamers, its lost sales don't benefit other competitors, if not by a very small measure, they are mostly lost, damaging the market.
