the truth is P.S.4 is hard to get hold of, in check Argos in store and do post code search its almost out

I searched all the Manchester stores and 4+was available which is a ridiculous inventory to keep if accurate

I'm guessing it will be same situation across U.K.,

So are people buying a ONE instead? and thats why the sale are higher?

Anyhow.  Sony better get their shit together.  They are failing in this regard.

They are failing to meet demand, but its a better problem than failing to generate enough demand. Sony won't be price cutting or giving away free games for some time yet in the west.

It's hardly surprising the gaming tastes between people in the U.K and U.S.A seem to be quite similar so now that combined with the price cut,Titanfall bundle and lack of PS4's available must have sold a few people on getting a Xbox one. I've also seen PS4, Xbox One and Wii U on the shelves of my local Tesco this week.

That's good news for MS.

The original article even states that "But retailers have told MCV that PS4 remains in control, and that Xbox’s recent success has been aided by shortages of Sony’s console."

That was weird reading the original link, which was an article quoting what the original article said.

Not sure about this.  They are reading minds arent they?  They are assuming the if someone cant find a PS4 they will buy a ONE.  Thats interesting and means my thread of 13 v 33 had a great deal of merit.

In that recent thread tough many people said that it didnt matter. Nobody who wants a PS4 would buy a ONE due to stock shortages of the PS4... they woud simply wait.

So which is it?  Are PS4 sales being lost to the ONE due to shortages or arent they?   If they arent then why are the sales levels of the ONE being aided?

I suspect they were misunderstood by the article author or they expressed themselves very poorly, and that what they meant was simply that  PS4 shortages made XBOne sales share get higher, eventually taking the weekly and monthly leadership. Yes, a very few impatient technophiles may buy an XBOne if they can't find a PS4, but also given its price still quite high even with good offers, I'm sure that almost every XBOne buyer actually wanted it. So without shortages, PS4 sales could be higher, not taking back some mysterious "stolen" sales, but simply fully tapping its own potential. And this is also the correct thing to wish, for the good of the whole gaming market, actually even wishing each one his fav platform the leadership, we should wish Wii U to sell better too, it's a different platform, with different features, games and gamers, its lost sales don't benefit other competitors, if not by a very small measure, they are mostly lost, damaging the market.

the benefit of not selling as many even though you are selling more for 4 weeks straight.

the shortage argument is so pathetically flawed

ps4 has sold 2.4m more units, across more countries, as such stock availability per country is less, without decent stock per country you cant get decent sales.

not rocket science dude, unless of course, you think there would be a plentiful supply of xbox ones had they also sold 6.3m units by now, which is just silly.
