Forums - Sony - Technically inferior Xbox One games have higher metacritic, WHY?

I'm with you 100%. If I'm playing Call of Duty, a sports game (like NBA 2k) or a Fighting game -- I usually listen to background noise. It's usually podcasts or music since those are free. But I'm getting more into audio books as well. There's nothing more relazing to me than playing Street Fighter with some smooth jazz in the background.

Those are exactly the kinds of experiences that I enjoy audiobooks on. You should try Audible. You can get it on your phone. it's cool you get a free book every month, you can crank up the narrator speed (I listen to all books at 3x speed, you can get through them faster) and they have just tons of awesome non-fiction and fiction on there. I have like hundreds of audiobooks. Also, you can get an audiobook reader app and just put audiobooks you may already have the files to on there as well.

I don't doubt that Audible is a great service, but 15 dollars a month is a bit much (for my lowly college budget) since I still have to pay for the books as well. I'll check out the free trial though.

I listen to audiobooks while i game much of the time because its hard to justify playing a video game for hours on end when you could be doing a video game AND something else at the same time. You might not agree, but I can play Peggle 2 and Titanfall just fine while listening to lectures and then I am getting more out of the experience. 'Feeling the explosion wash over you' is fun, but it isn't very developmental. Just as I don't like to listen to lectures and stare at a wall, I don't like to shoot robots and listen to nothing but explosions.

If that makes me less of a 'real gamer' in your eyes, fine. It does make me happier, smarter, and more comfortable with the time I put into playing video games (UPDATE: this is saying happier than if I didn't do it, smarter than if I didn't do it, and more comfortable with my time playing games than if I didn't do it, NOT, as some seem to think, that I'm saying listening to audiobooks makes me happier and more comfortable with my time on video games than the person I'm talking to. In fact, I suspect most people are much more comfortable with their time playing games than I am, it always feels like I could be doing more productive things to me, hence the audiobooks), and that matters to me more than your opinion of my gaming 'purity.' And I'm sure Jennifer Lawrence would agree with me.

As others have said, X1 has fewer reviews.
It is interesting though that the lower resolution and framerate isn't such a huge deal for even the critics.

It is, seeing as PS4 versions have more reviews thus more people chose the PS4 version over the Xbox One version.

Same for sales of third party games. It clearly matters, no matter how many times you keep telling yourself it doesn't.

Man you people have too much time on your hands...

Lol, I just asked how netflix improves the game warranting a higher score. I don't know why you feel the need to validate your gaming habits.

And why do you stick on Netflix as it is one exemple... Are you really missing what he is trying to say by better experience or are you just replying with rude response like that on purpose?

And yes, I'm actually watching Twitch while playing other games (not always but it happen and I enjoy it for sure) or sports on TV....

The game must be really good for you to only focus 50% of your attention on it.

Rude? Netflix is one of the things you can snap! Netflix, Hulu, Ted Talks, Television, Music. I was just throwing that out there as an idea. How is saying that rude?

Xbox One just makes them better, maybe not graphically. Instead it enhances these games with the controller, cloud power and snap ability. Games just are better on Xbox, and it's something ps4 will have to deal with this ten unfortunately for its users.

Better experience?

I thought ratings were a measure of the quality of the game not the extra embellishments of the console they are played on.

Funny because last gen notiecebly inferior ps3 games ended up getting a lower score... Suddenly the Xbox one version retains the same score as the ps4 version despite being noticeably inferior this gen..

The general consensus of this gen is the same as last.. Extreme Xbox bias in the core community.. It has been that way with reviews since Xbox 360..
