Forums - Sony - Technically inferior Xbox One games have higher metacritic, WHY?

It's a statistical anomaly, most likely. But the controller is better on the X1.

Uh, no. There should be a "in my opinion" following this statement. There is nothing intrinsically better about the XBO controller. In fact many people feel that it is a downgrade from the 360 controller

Because the expectation on playstation is always higher.

Since 2001.

Ironically, the better experience that people are touting the 1 point higher Xb1 for is also responsible for less reviewers actually wanting the game on XB1.

In other words, many reviewers don't want the XB1 version, and if they were forced to play they would probably give the XB1 bad scores out of spite. ;)

Number of reviews. For TR for example the X1 version has 16 reviews, the PS4 version has 53. Scores can also be affects by each consoles "private" reviews, such as the PS magazine and Xbox magazine (one could give a game a 6, the other a 9. That score will only affect 1 version of the game, so it can warp the score further).

This.  Case closed

Seriously people, How is it even possible for the " superior" Xbox controller to cause the difference in overall score, while the reviews are different for each platform ?, it is not like the PS4 versions are getting lower scores from the same reviewer...

This is a simple thing to understand really.

because they don't have to 100% the same reviews from exactly the same sites and those sites who reviewed both versions gave the same scores because something like pixels didn't change how much fun they had with these games? all it would maybe change is the graphics score.

Because the technological part of games running on Xbox One has been blown completely out of proportion. It's more than good enough. Also, less reviews for X1 version, although it says it all when these games got similar scores on both systems. Framerate may matter but why should resolution affect a review much?
