Thinking about VR headsets and I thought to myself how much fun it would be to play Battlefield or (if they dont screw it up) Battlefront. For me thats about it. Sony supposedly showed off a God of War demo where you use the headset. How? You guessed it, first person Kratos(if hes still the main guy somehow) for the QTE sections. I cant think of any other applications for VR. You can use it as a personal monitor, but for the price of a Occulus Rift(or PS camera+whatever the headset costs) you can (likely) buy a 32" tv that has way more uses. If that is the case its likely a waste of time. While the FPS is wildly popular even the highest selling FPS is like 15ish million. Its going to be a hard sell to get those 15ish million onboard the VR train and even if you do it will likely end up like Kinect where devs wont see time in trying to use it because only a small percentage of gamers have the VR capability. That being said what do you all see VR being used for other than FPS games?
EDIT:Please elaborate, dont just say "platformers" or "survival horror" how would playing it with the headset be different than playing on a tv.
More Edits: FPS was the wrong choice of words I should have said first person games like racing cocpit view or inside a plane
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
