What?! You can hook up a PC to a TV with an HDMI cable. You can also use a controller but I wouldn't advise playing an online FPS game on PC with it.

I feel my purchases are more or less safe on PC, whereas on console I feel they're at a big risk in the future. I own a PS3 and several digital games for it, and I doubt Sony is going to be offering them 10-20 years from now, which makes me pretty sad. On the other hand, I'm sure that I'll be able to get my digital PC games then because I've avoided risky digital purchases (ie. I've only bought stuff on GOG and Steam, and I dislike even Steam). Also, PC games are easy to crack to work without activation etc. so I can always play them even without official support if that's the only way.
I can't see physical vs. digital having anything at all to do with consoles vs. PC.
Speaking as a person who plays on both, that's not a consideration that even enters my mind. Consoles still have advantages over PC and vice versa. I play plenty of digital games on both.
I don't really understand this argument.

Only if it's done well, as in:
1. There's enough storage space so that 95% of gamers don't have to delete games to make room for other games
2. Reasonable download speeds
3. Frequent sales that rival Steam
4. Games are tied to a user and not a system so I don't lose all my games if my console breaks.

Yes, but that changes the game how? This has always been the case. Consoles and PCs are still gonna be both valid choices as they are now. Until of course people figure out that you can hook up a PC to a TV. |
Better performance. I said that in the OP too.
*edit*
Advantages between PC and consoles when everything goes all digital.
PC. Better performance, current gen is backwards compatible with all prior gens, more digital markets to purchase your games from so more frequent sales, you can change graphical options to get better performance or better graphics, and no fee for online gaming. Wii U and the portables have no fee for online gaming right now for consoles and portables, but for future gens, free online is gone unless you go with Nintendo.
Console. No need to wonder whether your console will play the game or not. With PC though, as long as you have 8GB of RAM and a graphics card more powerful than the most current console, you won't have to worry about that either.

There's always laptops. Can't carry them in your pocket, but they're still portable. Battery life that's longer than the Vita and 3DS.
There's also the Nvidia Shield so long as you have a powerful PC and have access to an internet connection outside your home to stream your games.
The only think i like more than digital sales and psplus is Collectors and limited editions.
I would for sure miss these.

This. I tend to buy digital these days on PC and console, but I'm really worried that I won't be able to redownload some of my games in the future if Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft shut down support for older consoles
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC
I prefer digital now. Its easier to play games without having to get up and physically put discs into the console.
