Funny thing is people laughed when they said that about 360, given that Xbox only lasted 4 years. Now it is in its 9th year.

The 360 had an enthusiast CPU and a high end GPU when it launched, and it will crawl to 10 years.  Do you really think a console with a mid-range CPU and lower-midrange gpu will last longer?!

Yeah I do laugh buddy.

I never said I agreed with the 12 year claim, but 10 isn't out of the question.

What do you expect.....it is the 9th year of the console. The Last of Us released in PS3's 7th year......I am VERY curious to see what PS3 releases are like in its 9th year in 2015 to contrast with the games I listed.

The fact of the matter is that the games that are 3rd party, are not coming to PS3, which in itself deserves a mention. Ports or not, Titanfall and Project Spark are high profile for Xbox and it would certainly give it an edge over whatever PS3 has going for it this year.

so you are expecting PS3 games 2 years into the PS4/X1 gen do be as good as xbxo 360 games in the year where next-gen systems were only around for 2 months?

Where did you find such a ridiculous idea?

But its Sony right? Don't they support to the very last end? Certainly they can't allow greedy MS to bring more support to 360 now?

But ok, have it your way. Lets compare 2014 for the both of them, regardless of their 8th and 9th year out. Now I don't know what PS3 is packing in 2014, but certainly 360 games not on PS3 in 2014 is worth noting, especially the frontliners like Titanfall and Project Spark, port or not.

I can name you 2 not on 360... MLB 14 and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles.

If you want, bet on it and we come back to it at the end of the year to see which has more support.

No one can predict the future but I think it is safe to say both PS4 and X1 will sell for a shorter period of time than their previous outings  (Most likely a 5-6 year console cycle).

However I gauruntee the X1 will not break 6 years before the X2 comes out if the X1 still can't outsell the PS4 for even the week Titanfall launches.

On that we can agree. If the PS4 gap gets ridiculously big, I expect Nin/MS to kickstart a new gen early and force Sonys hand.

Well that would be interesting. Still think that Titanfall alone will give 360 an edge based on its blockbuster status

Rare are saying a lot lately.

I hope not. An 8 year gen was excruciating and dare I say pretty bad for the dedicated gaming hardware industry. I couldn't take this one lasting a further 4 years.

And it's exclusive game support died somewhere in 2012.

Funny I just played Fables Legends not that long ago and it came out this year if you don't own one don't talk BS about it.

How did you play Fable Legends when it's not out yet?  Also, it's an X1 game, not 360.  Did you mean Fable: The Journey?
