Amazon's long-rumored set top box/game console may not be much of a box at all, and instead of just optimized Android games, may be capable of streaming PC games, a new report today claims. Citing unnamed sources, TechCrunch reports that Amazon's streaming device will take on a Chromecast-style dongle design that plugs directly into your TV's HDMI port. What's more, the company will leverage and expand upon its existing PC game distribution service to stream "top-tier" titles to the device at 30 frames-per-second.

The inclusion of PC game streaming could give Amazon a notable leg-up over current microconsoles like the Ouya, GameStick, and M.O.J.O., which currently target small downloadable games and mobile ports.

Unfortunately, the site's sources offered no insight into when we might see Amazon's streaming device revealed to the public, but rest assured, we've reached out to Amazon for comment and we'll be watching this story closely.

I would say flop but I am curious about the price cause if amazon is good with one thing, its the price for their devices. Should be interesting to say the least, might even beat the OUYA

They are already increasing prime to $99. Prob gonna include a game streaming service of sorts.

This will be the first year I do not renew, there will be sales tax included on purchases now and welp its not worth waiting 2 days for something that is about the same price now.

Yeah they already have their cloud launched a few weeks back to be tested..
if Amazon gets a deal with ISPs that their Amazon Service Usage isn't counted in the consumers bandwith cap its gonna be huge.. I actually do think amazon will pick up that bill
