Forums - Gaming - One thing I can't stand about Titanfall

Been playing the game on PC from day 1. I have only 1 gripe with it: there is not enough players on the field. The stupid AI are an annoying distraction,  it's so bad it's taking away from my enjoyment. Most of the maps are big and 6v6 in them doesnt feel right. It's really hard finding an enemy to shoot him. If you go after the grunts, an enemy player will spot you and shoot you while you're going after the bots because those bots are at their camp where the players spawn.

I really wish there were more real players on the map. 12v12 for example, and the titans more valuable to obtain and limit how much there can be on the field.

Really great game that I want to love, gameplay is awesome, with 1 very serious problem.

I think I know why that is...........The massive frame rate drops that happen when there is like 4 titans in one area. The game probably went to shit when they tested 18 or so titans in one area.

But they forgot one key element from call of duty that could of helped them to pull it off.

well maybe two,

1. Make obtaining titans a more award based accomplishment instead of just handing them to everybody (this might however discourage a lot of players)

2. post a titan cap. In cod, you could only have one massive damage killstreak running at a time like ac 130 etc, I assume that was to pacify the strain that the explosions was putting on the game. So freezing the amount of titans that could be called per side at one time could allow more pilots to roam.

I actually love the balance of the game as is.  I've had some 5+ titan battles and they are intense!  My complaints with the game so far are more minor.

 

For example, it should be easier to tell when you KILL a pilot vs grunt.  Larger text or something.

I had a few more but escaping me at the moment.  Titanfall is some of the most fun I've had with a FPS in a while.

 

In general, i'm still learning the tips and tricks in the game and probably will be for the next few months.

I agree with that point, you have to llok for the amount you scored for the kill to determine it was a pilot. they should leave the small text for minions and do like a big call of duty esc 50+ in the midle of the screen for titan and pilot kills.

Why there is not more players ? Because this is a game made for casual in priority, they wanted them to be easy to get for everyone.

It would have been much better as a gamer if there was a real challenge to obtain titans, otherwise, it doesnt push you to be skilled

 

The smart pistol shows that too,  they thought more to please casual FPS than the others.

I know I would of liked the game more but you know.....the trend is to push towards accomidating all skill levels nowadays in multi player games. Thats also why they added a bunch of shit Ai bots to shoot. SOME people actually feel some sort of acomplishment in shooting them.

Actually, there IS something accomplished by shooting them.  You get your titan faster.  Although you get it even faster by killing other pilots or landing hits on titans.  I'm telling you guys the game is actually pretty well balanced.

The problem with more titans, is that then you might run into too many traffic jam slug fests.  I think they wanted titan battles to have the option to be more duck and weave.  With too many titans, thats harder to do.  With 6 v 6, its already a little congested at at times, so I see why they hesitated. 

The only other option would have been to make 12 v 12 but then limit who gets titans and when you can get titans.  But that probably would have been frustrating even for decent players. 



Yeah, I hate the bots, too. I'm going for pilots and I shoot like four bots only to be killed by a player. I wonder if there's a way to turn them off.



If you think that bots are annoying or there are not enough players in the map you're playing it wrong.
The only place where action might be slow is Boneyard.
