So does this one have the same time constraints as the others? Meaning like "Day 1" etc passes when you do different things and have only a set amount of time to work with? (Like the others in the series and/or FF:LR style)

Yeah the time constraints are a hallmark of the series and a large part of the challenge that comes with the games since if you had all the time in the world you could easily grind far beyond the level of the enemies you'll be facing and use alchemy to deck yourself out in massively destructive bombs and the best armor and weapons you can manage.  The time constraint also affects the resources you have as gathering resources takes time.  Even with the time constraints if you work efficiently you can still easily grind to a point where any non-boss enemy dies just from touching it and you have all the resources you need, you just have to be smart about it.

So you'd basically want me to purchase Dark Souls 2 to make my life impossible?

Especially now that you can invade Hollows as well?

Cool thread! I hope it can get some recognition. It actually got a rather high score from the biggest French game site.

Here's my review too.

I have been meaning to try out an Atelier game for such a long time, but I never seem to get around to it.

But now I think I'll finally make a dip and purchase E&L. Game looks solid to me.

I have been intrigued by atelier games and how gust is supporting them in the west but i have been afraid to try one. Carfting in RPG's is not exactly my favorite activity and most reviews and impressions say the combat system is not very good so i have been staying away from them... maybe this one is better as they say it has a fast combat system.

I'm still undecided though. I'm not sure i will get one.

I thought they were good games even when in the 50s metacritic scores. I still have Atelier Ayesha unopened, so i'll probably wait a bit for this one.

I'm glad it's reviewing so well. I feel like Gust have been putting out consistently high quality Atelier games pretty much throughout the PS3's life (Rorona excluded, but I haven't actually played that yet) but they still seem largely ignored. I hope this translates to a sales boost.

I really enjoyed the direction they took the series with Ayesha. It was familiar enough to the Arland games but the world had a lot more potential in it. There were some breathtaking locations too, they really nailed those. Plot wasn't the strongest, but I enjoyed that they went for something with a bit more of an emotional punch.
