Forums - Gaming - My prediction; Xbox ONE will finish last this Gen.

Saw thread title; correctly guessed creator.

Needless to say; I strongly disagree with the OP, the One has actual appeal hiding under a ridiculous price tag, a fairly weak library and the mandatory Kinect blunder, it has the ability to rise when showered with actual purchasing incentives; the Wii U does not, all the tricks in the hat thus far have been highly ineffective and the product as a whole has a flawed core design that cannot be mended through adding would-be purchasing incentives.
The Wii U will have its spikes during major game releases and holidays but won't remain ahead of the One, I find it strange that Kaizar condemns anyone who "dooms" the Wii U at this point, yet goes on to "doom" the One after about 4 months on the market.
I think it's called double standards, and this paired with absolute lack of insight and foresight and complete and utter ignorance on everything and anything gaming related sprinkled with a constant shower of distorted, cherry-picked (3DS 65% marketshare thread anyone?) "facts" and downright falsehoods and ridiculous arguments (Wii U rounded up to 6 million, Vita rounded down to 7 million; presto! Only a mill behind now!!!) makes for some truly terrible posts.

Is it entertaining though? It was but now it's just getting old. Makes me almost miss the UNITY thread.

Wiiu sold around 3 million last year, what the hell makes anyone think it will out sale the x1?

Mario Kart -- Gaming's #1 racing franchise

Super Smash Bros. -- One of the greatest fighting game series of all time

X -- the sequel to the most critically acclaimed JRPG of the last gen

Sonic Boom -- the most comprehensive reboot of the series ever, lead by former Naughty Dog employees

The fact that Nintendo has a 2:1 advantage in the NFC games. Half the cost of next gen competition, double sales of it's next nearest competitors

The fact that the new Zelda U will be revealed this year.

Cue someone to start a worthless rebutall in 3, 2, 1 ....

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

You didn't add anything to the OP that would explain your position, but I'll tell you why it won't happen.

Nintendo doesn't have that massive casual audience again.

I'd like to know if people still have some weird hope for a Wii U turnaround or if they're just thinking/hoping that the X1 is going to crash and burn from here on out, whatever it is I see some really weird positions in here.

The X1 is going to outsell the Wii U.

I don`t know if Wii U can do better than XB 1, but there`s a high chance that it can.
Although Wii U is dong worse than GC until now, it`s also true that Wii U hasn`t had the same SW support from Nintendo as GC had in it`s 2/3 years of life.
What i see happening is the opposite of what happened to GC, thus, Wii U getting a steady flow of games starting this year into the next and even 2016. 3DS like support.
Not to forget that Wii U won`t stay at 300$ forever.

This could very much help Nintendo fight XB1 when it reaches half of it`s lifecycle and going towards it`s end, in opposition to what happens with every home console by Nintendo that gets it`s strongest support early in its life, and then loses it`s appeal/strong support in it`s last years.

Also, in 2007 pretty much everyone thought the PS3 would end up dead last; no one imagined a Kinect and what it could do for XB360; Wii would do wonders (not fall in sales so abruptly) until the end.
Things change.

There are a lot of variables that we can only guess at including price cuts and bundles. The wii u clearly has a cost advantage in that it contains very low cost components so is much easier to drop the price.

Xbox one is really just a weaker version of ps4.

In Europe wii u and xbox one sell a similar number currently. It's really only the USA where the xbox one sells well.

If the xbox one does manage to beat the wii u install base it won't be in the short term I think. It's more likely it will perform better when its reached a much lower price like £200 and that is years away. So I think the wii u will be the first to 10 million but not necessarily the first to 20 million.

I agree.  XBO may seem to close the gap and may even pass the Wii U.  But once everyone has your high end console, they'll pick up Nintendo for the first party titles.  There will probably be really good bundles at that point, so why wouldn't they?  Clearly everyone is going to have a PS4 (well played Sony...now just fix your other business portions and you won't go bankrupt), why would they get a XBO too?

Current trend is PSV and Wii U alternating in outselling each other, so PSV should keep its lead, at least in the short and mid term, while XBOne is regularly outselling both by a few tens k/week. About PS4 and 3DS, in the short term the former is outselling the latter by a few tens k/week too, but 3DS lead is still huge.
So, the most sensible prediction is 3DS>PS4>XBOne>PSV>Wii U.
But anything can change.

i dont think xbox one will finish last, already in Europe they are getting a price cut, In America i think they are selling out so, and this coming from someone who has a PS4

I think its possible and even very probable outside the US, wich really is the X1 only market. It will depend on how much the ps4 crushes it. The wiiu will have the advantage of reaching mass market price sooner but nintendo has to get off their arse if they want to sell it. If they do and MS continues on the road of arrogance, its possible.
