Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Price cuts, not Titanfall, will "save" the XBO.

Don't agree. MS needs more system sellers. Pricecut won't do shit. If MS manages to turn the image of the X1 around people will buy it regardless of price.

Really, you think that? People didn't buy PS3 regardless of price when it was $600...and that's arguably the strongest brand in gaming (coming off of the PS2). Granted that high price was in combination with no amazing games for about a year.

But then the combination of a price drop and good games rolling in and the PS3 started selling like hotcakes.

A $400 X1 (they could achieve this price by taking the mandatory Kinect out) would immediately boost X1 sales astronomically.

Well you still wouldn't buy rat feces even if they dropped the price would you?

The X1 has an image problem and that's what holding it back most. Even if it were the same price as the PS4 it would still sell less because people now associate the Xbox brand with bad PR.

If the tables were turned and X1 did have an amazing reception and no scandals and the PS4 did something bad then X1 would sell more even with a higher price tag.

Most people who bought so far didn't care about price.

I agree. The high price point is making a tough sell and for $500 you're going to need a lot more than Titanfall to push it. A $100 price cut would greatly help it, probably not push it to PS4 heights because of the EU and Japanese markets but probably enough to make MS happy.

What if we get pricecuts AND Titanfall?

didn't expect that ...
titanfall saved the xbone ... and the pricecut gave them back their foothold in the us/uk ...
without both it might not be that great but now its looking really good for the us/uk.
rest of the world still uncertain.

MS can more then go on temporary sales to drive demand and offer a unbundled X1 in fall 2015.
