So expansions are a good thing when Nintendo does them, but greedy when everyone else does it. Lots of double standards in this thread.

No. I didn't say that. My point on 3rd parties isn't true expansions such as map packs. But day one DLC, new outfits/characters in fighting games, etc.

A map pack a few months in for $15 for an FPS is a good value. A day one DLC that unlocks a couple maps already present on disc and or unlocks characters in fighting games, pisses me off.

I agree with you there, day one DLC is bullshit and I refuse to support it, but not all developers do that sort of thing. Plenty of them use expansions wisely and without screwing over the consumer.

They are all heading that way and show it with each new game. (except a rare few like naughty dog and I think RockStar, etc)

Seems like game design now focuses on a very simple core game idea and then a bunch of content that they can sell you after, including stuff that really should be and usually was part of main game.

Good for you ,but why did you feel the need to turn it into a thread , anyone who's been here for awhile and knows your disposition wouldn't be surprised by this.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Being here since January 2008, I don´t remember reading such an angry thread from you, chunk.

Patience is a virtue.

GOTY edition , ultimate editions, etc is the way to go!

Anyways good luck!

That explains the size of your Steam wishlist

Nintendo hasn't been pushing any boundaries these days. It's mostly third parties who make new IP's and indies that are really setting standards.

Agreed.  Still trying to find out why this thread was created.

-- Known nintendo guy is not going to by another non nintendo console (pretty much a given from previous posts)

--Uses this thread to bash 3rd party practices.

Outside condolences/encourgement from people who support him in his campain (which by the posters who agree with him is no real surprise) this should have been wall material at best.

I don't get why this is such a problem for some. Just don't buy them! Then you're not affected in any way. You don't even have to buy third party games day one if you feel the asking price is too much. It's good to be in control of your own money.

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes because third parties won't support a Nintendo platform (because their games don't sell well there).
