You're absolutely right, but as long as Steambox doesn't convince me, I'll be playing indies on the tv on ps4.
After day 1 DLC, paying for alphas is my next most hated practice. Infrequent updates, wondering if the game will ever be finished at all, and lose interest anyway before a final version. PS+ has allowed me to play many indie gems for free or discounted, no controller issues, finished games.

For AAA games, normal scrutiny applies. Not buying DLC and if it gets too ridiculous, skip the game altogether.

This.  If he want to be limited playing the same game over and over with nintendo failing to keep the games coming at a normal pace, let him be.  There's no need for sony and microsoft owners to be in this position, the games will keep coming.  He is just angry that Wii U failed at retaining third parties games because he thaught that Wii U will have everything including third parties, that's why he decided to sell his ps3. 

How is extra content done right a bad idea? Doesn't mean you have to purchase it. Knowing Nintendo we'll be lucky to game before 2016 let alone extra content. Nintendo needs to get with the times.
