Forums - Nintendo - Game Theory: Wii U is the New Virtual Boy

Well they have similar problems but it's not quite the same thing. The Wii U for the most part has games worth playing (other than Wario Land what was worth playing on the VB?) and for now at least Nintendo is still showing support for it. The Virtual Boy was pretty much DOA. However I don't agree with the Wii U is the "Gamecube 2.0" either.

Now i like gametheory but saying the Wii U is the Virutal Boy 2.0 is just ignorant its more like the gamecube 2.0 like everyone else said

I don't understand how people draw this conclusion. The Gamecube and Wii U are about as different from each other as they can be. The only similarity they have is they are selling/sold poorly. A better comparison would be the policies they had with the N64, but even that is quite a stretch.

I've called it in other threads; Wii U is the worst selling console since Virtual Boy. Glad I got vindicated by a third party.

Also where is Mr Khan? I demand he ban that video because it contains toxic language such as "flop," "failure" - words other users like myself have been banned for using in the past in the same context.

Nintendo ignores their past problems, their fans in this thread ignore their current problems.

Genius.

It's not ignoring their current problems to realize that the Wii U's troubles aren't even in the same league as those the Virtual Boy faced.

Virtual Boy was discontinued after 8 months. Last time I checked, Wii U wasn't discontinued last July.

Big Picture.

Virtual Boy = Nintendos worst selling portable console

Wii U (still on track to be) =  Nintendos worst selling home console

Keep grasping your fingers to that ledge of excuses even harder. I enjoy the suspense...

Big picture.

PS VIta = worst selling Sony portable

PS3 = worst Selling Sony console

See how your logic doesn't make any sense.

They must be running out of ideas, as this theory and their reasonings are so ridiculously bad and I'm sure Game Theory isn't that stupid.

Ok, the wiiU isn't at a good point, but it's not THAT bad. I'm guessing it will sell 15-20 million life time. I think the wiiU is far more comparable to the dreamcast.

I disagree,  the Dreamcast was made for the gamers, the design was great and sega supported amazingly even when plenty of devs did not wanted to support it..(EA even boycottted it because sega still wanted to make their own sport games)

Sonic adventure 1/2, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue 1/2, Ikaruga, Rez, Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia, Jet set radio, Virtua tennis, Daytona,Fighting vipers 2, Phantasy star online, House of the dead, sega rally 2,sonic shuffle, samba de amigo, lllbleed, Virtua striker, Chu chu robot, space channel 5, Virtua fighter 3, sega bass fishing, seaman (hey this one was original)..

Sega released one exclusive game from their own studios every month during the lifespan of the DC...

To make it short, With the DC from Sega I really felt like they were trying hard to attract gamers and they showed it us with a lot of games and many of them are still treasures today..     Nintendo with their Wii U on the other end feels like they are not trying and the games are not really flooding the system while they have so many IP's...

Yeah sorry when I read your comment I felt like you were trolling the DC...

They were both doomed to fail from the beginning.

I liked GameXplain's discussion about Wii U than this.

Although both were pretty hard to listen/watch to.

Wii U is not Virtual Boy.

VB was simply a failure.

Wii U is still going to be profitable for Nintendo in long run, but it will be the worst selling home console they've released.
