Ummm... yes, it is a good excuse.  Why make a game about someone no one knows or cares about.  They're in the business to make money.

You mean like Superman?, Wonder Woman? The Flash? Green Arrow? Green Lantern? yeah, a lot of unknown characters and I am sure no one cares about them either.

What's so fun about playing as Superman?

"Oh look at me, I'm invincible and can fly at the speed of light and any movie/comic/game involved armound me is boring unless someone has kryptonite, but we all know I'll beat them up anyway".

Batman movies, series and games are interesting because he isn't overpowered. Yeah, we know he'll win, but we never know HOW. Superman just beats everyone up.

Rocksteady should make a Tintin game, that be so exciting. He's a much better comic book character than all your examples anyway.

The way you described Superman, is how any superhero is, in the end. You always know he's ll make it.

Man of Steel wasn't boring. We didn't know at all how he was going to handle Zod in the end. Especially with how things turned out. Did you miss the outcry from the polarized fanbase after he did it? The kind of closed minded thinking and that "shoving down everyone's throat" behaviour you show on VGC on every occasion you can is really not serving you good.

And that's just like a Belgian to dismiss everything and ask for a Tintin game. No bias whatsoever. xD

Are you seriously calling Man of Steel a good movie? It's something I'd watch if nothing else was on tv, but that's about it.

I'm not shoving anything down anyone's throats, I just dislike overpowered characters. You can't make interesting games about Superman unless you water him down. And then fans will complain.

Anyway, what's wrong with being biased? Everyone is biased, at least I'm not hiding it like a hypocrite. I always laugh when someone proclaims on this site that he's doing an "unbiased review". Oh really? Your review about your PERSONAL experience with a game is unbiased?

Tintin isn't some overpowered alien, his games would be interesting if done right(which will most likely never happen).

Read what you write as if it was written by someone else. Maybe you'll get what I mean. You force your view on people by stating them as facts. You say "you can't make interesting games about Superman unless you water him down". You state it as a fact.  The case here, is that a proper Superman game has never been made. If you'd know the character a little, you'd know there are tons of way to approach the character and make him vulnerable in some way. And just so you know, Doomsday didn't need Kryptonite.

In any case, it's cool that you're biased. It isn't when you need to shit on what other people like to make  what you prefer appear as any better. That's shoving your opinion down people's throat. With a lack of manners, no less.

There's a reason why there are great Batman movies and games and none for Superman. Superman is a Mary Sue and that is a fact.

It's cute that you think you can be unbiased though. As a historian, I know better. Of course there's still a difference with being extremely biased and just a little bit biased. The former should be avoided at any cost if you're writing anything scientific. ;) Which I'm not doing right now by the way, but you noticed that already.

See? Still more shoving down people's throat.

And where did I ever claim to be unbiased? Please, enlighten me, oh supreme one.

The evidence is quite clearly there, Superman fits the definition of a Mary Sue.

Of course we know all superheroes will win eventually(exceptions prove the rule), but we don't always know HOW he'll win. If you have a Mary Sue type character that "how" becomes boring rather quickly. That's why we have great Batman movies and games. Because he isn't near invincible. No one can relate to Superman. I'm sure there are some people out there that can somewhat relate to batman(even though he's also unrealistic).

You didn't claim you were unbiased, but it seemed to me like you were implying it. My bad. :)

So when you start seeing a movie about Batman you don't know that Batman will win at the end ?

Superman is one of the best sellings comics, yet you say people can't relate to him? ~Maybe you don't, doesn't mean others will not!

Let me take a look at this...

  • Game is being developed by Rocksteady (Sweet! I hope they put some care into this game unlike WB Montreal studios with Arkham Origins)
  • Next-Gen+PC platforms only (Cool, it's not a 7th gen port with an 8th gen coat of paint)
  • Scarecrow is the main villian (Thank god, didn't we had enough of the Joker)

THE ABILITY TO DRIVE THE BATMOBILE IN A BATMAN GAME!

Did you read my post? It basically answered your question. Yes, we know Batman will win, but HOW he'll win is entertaining to me because he isn't an overpowered character like Superman. What's even worse is that Batman and Superman share a universe. This basically makes Batman pointless because Superman can basically one hit every villain of Batman. Imagine playing as Superman in Arkham City.

Just because someone is liked doesn't mean you can relate to him. I mean, can Christians relate to the biblical Jesus? That would seem like quite an arrogant statement to me.

Someone should really do a study to explain the difference between Franco-Belgian comics and American ones. Why does America like overpowered superheroes so much? I can't answer that question, but I have some ideas as to why that would be.

I don't think Scarecrow is the main villain—he's just assembling them.

Arkham Knight is going to probably be the main villain of the game. It doesn't say so directly but with the title of the game I can assume that in some capacity he will be the main antagonist.
