The key is whether 3rd week stays above 50K or if it drops 50% or more. Obviously if it stays above 50K we're looking at supply constraints and demand will stay pretty strong, if week 3 is 30K or below then we're looking at diminishing demand and possibly medium term weekly sales at a similar level to Wii U. An interesting one to watch.

So, week 3 is 30k or below, why can't it be because of supply constraints?

It could be, but I would think if Sony's production rate is 1 million per month then they should be able to ship 50K per week to Japan, 150K per week to the rest of the world and save 50K per week to build up for the Holidays.

50k per week is 20% of the whole PS4 shipment for 1 month to 1 country only.

People are forgetting it's March, not the holiday season when most other consoles launched. Wii-U did well in Japan during the holidays then dropped massively to 10k-20k.

PS4 will have steady sales in Japan througout the year, and then explode in the end of the year.

I wonder how many sell during ground zero week I'm guessing over 100k

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Wow that is a massive drop.... I'll wait until we know the baseline in japan before I cross of the PS4 from my sig

bump!

Sony is so dang bad at resupplying... But I guess holidays do indeed matter in Japan.

Disappointing, I expected 90-100k at least. Doom!

No games - no sales. Nothing strange.

Knack Killed the momentum!

Some people here seems not to understand the OP

PS4 sold 60k in its second week. That was lower than WiiU and Vita second week

There´s no official information about those "stock" issues people insist in talking about, but we all know that Japan is not a big consumer of home consoles, so this drop is no big surprise. We should wait at least two or three months to see how PS4 sales will get stable.
