Should Pokemon New Generation Installments Stay as 2 Seperate games?

Well you got time, pokemon Z (or watever its going to be called) is heavily hinted at not being a third installment/directors cut this time, in fact theories suggest a completely new region (people think east of kalos). If true it be nice for pokemon to have a completely different game instead of the usually generation upgrade (Yellow/Crstal/Emerald/Platinum)

If i'm lucky i'll have a week off in April, so i can use that to poor my life into Pokemon :P Would you suggest X or Y?
