Yes, it has 2 weaknesses:

1) Microsoft's parity clause
2) "Alarmingly, one source has suggested that PlayStation 4 version of cross platform titles could be “castrated” so both versions of the game look identical. This would be done to “avoid ruffling any feathers” and “damage perceptions of a cross platform title, not to mention Xbox One.” <- If true, it doesn't matter whether the PS4 has more resources to work with. Games will be tailored to the lowest common denominator to avoid 'ruffling feathers'.

Have you been living under a rock?

No?  Show me where the PS4 version of a game is VASTLY better than the Xbox One version.  They're not.  Sure, they perform marginally better on the PS4, but largely the games are the same.  I also stated 'If true', since that particular article didn't have a named source.

The problem is your using subjective terms to qualify the disparity. Lets consider the facts here.

Generally speaking for the first half of the previous generation, the 360 out did the PS3 on multiplat games, usually because the games got ported from 360 to PS3 and the Cell was difficult to work with (Unless you're Hideo Kojima)

However, the disparity was within a few frames. Both had resolutions at 30fps 720 or lower for most games, with PS3 being more choppy then 360. For a gap of 200, at the end PS3 tended to have better looking multiplats so the disparity was basically eliminated. 7th gen was arguably the larger disparity in performance for price

Now we have a hardware disparity (which cannot reasonably be overcome with software alone) leading to consistent game disparity of about twice the frames or twice the resolution and the price disparity again.

Thus the Gap b/w the PS4 and Xbox1 is larger than the 360 and PS3, and it would be even larger still if the ps3 didn't cost 600$

Since PS4 has a larger marketshare, is easier develop for (for virtue of not having esram), and fanboyism has no place in business decisions, Xbox1 games will probably be ported from PS4 if not on PC first. Downgrading a game for the illusion of parity damages the perception of the game, this is why the PC version of games will usually be the trailer if it looks better, and why we aren't seeing the 360 version of Titanfall, along with the fact that MS wants it to sell more XB1s

Again, let me just preface the response with my having pointed out that 'If true' part.  It's really hard to take unnamed sources seriously, however, we've already seen developers who've done this purposefully.  Crytek for example, openly admitted axing certain things for Crysis 2, because only the PC could handle them.  It's developers like that, that concern me, and leads me to believe that there may be more than a tiny fragment of truth in that article I quoted.

But, do I know for sure this is the case for the majority of devs?  No.  Nor do I know that any devs but Crytek have done this since.  I just think that since devs have already shown the capacity for it, it's very possible that it's a behavior they could continue in the future.

Fair, but what I am arguing is that money is more important than parity, if there was more money to be made on the Xbox platform, then it would likely happen. However, as long as ps4 as the ps4 has at least 45% marketshare, then even if microsoft paid all the multiplat studios, they would still make more money from making it look better on one of the consoles.

Oh I agree with you entirely, but, if we don't know it's missing then it's not like they're going to lose revenue, right?  Unless it's just a crap game, of course.  And from that article, it doesn't even sound like Microsoft is throwing money at them, this is done simply to not ruffle any feather's in either camp.  Kinda wish they would've named their source now, because talking this vaguely is obnoxious *chuckle*

Currently the biggest weakness of the PS4 for me is that it lacks a lot of common sense features PS3 features like local media playback, themes, etc. Those can be addressed with software updates. I don't see any long-term things that might hold it back. Perhaps the greatest strength of the PS4 is that it doesn't have anything like the Kinect or GamePad to hold it back hardware-wise.

Yea I could totally see them doing this.  Why ruffle feathers when there's no benefit to it.  Maybe if Microsoft or Sony pay for a superior version they would do it, but they probably don't wanna piss anyone off.  They probably spend extra time and effort to make the two versions of the game as similar as possible.  Just speculation though, but given the way these companies are, I could totally see it.

It doesn't play Nintendo games. I am hopeful that this will change once Nintendo goes 3rd party as many  amazing analysts predicted!

Yeah, right... keep hoping. Nintendo will never go 3rd party. There's more chance of Sony bowing out of the hardware game than Nintendo.

You could say 3rd party support is slightly worse than Xbox One. Microsoft has all these (timed) exclusivity deals (PvZ, TitanFall 1), while Sony only has 60 minutes extra gameplay on selected Ubisoft titles. Hopefully with the money Sony makes with PS+, we see more of this on PS4. If Sony could have a big deal like that (Call of Duty, Battlefield, FIFA or any other mayor franchise), that'd be great!

I also think getting overheated may become a problem in the future. My PS4 emits a lot of heat if I have it on for a long time, so we'll see how it does in the summer months.

The PS4 is weak to lightning, we should attack with thunder speels for an easy victory
