I am french and this article is saying that the PS3 version of UT3 sold 1.2 million in North America...

vgchartz is wrong, again.

More to come with the release of the PlayStation 3 version across Europe.

Midway Games has today confirmed that Unreal Tournament 3 for PlayStation 3 will hit store shelves across Europe on Friday February 22.

The imminent availability of the PS3 version across Europe follows a successful worldwide launch of the PC version and PS3 version in North America.  Including the North American PS3 release the game has shipped over 1.2 million units worldwide and this figure is sure to rise thanks to European sales.

"The separated format releases have worked well, effectively giving each sku its own space," said Martin Spiess, European Managing Director of Midway Games. "Epic has delivered a game of impeccable quality and superb playability, and sales figures clearly show the timing was also spot on."

Look out for our thoughts on the UT3 for PS3 in the near future.

so 1.2 is a shipment figure for WW pc and NA ps3.  so it's plausible that our numbers for ps3 UTIII is low but i highly doubt that it is a million seller due to the inclusion of WW pc and being a shipment figure not a sold to consumer number.

let's just say that PC version sold 60% while PS3 version sold 40%. 1 million out of 1.2 are on consumer's hand.

That would imply that we undertracked UTIII by 100%. so it should be somewhere near 400K right now, not 200K

No biggie.

 ... assuming that ship=sold and that the pc vs. ps3 sales ratio you gave is correct.  those are pretty big assumptions but hey, no biggie.

I don't even know why you attack it in the first place, it's pretty reasonable/safe assumption here. 80% of shipped number sold,  40% of which is sold on PS3,
