There really isn't a lot of need. Sony's new MO is working with third-party studios on first party projects. It's working well, I think, and if a project doesn't perform, they can back away without any harm.

However, I'd love to see them buy some Japanese studios for dedicated RPG and/or Vita support.

Quantic dream maybe. They don't really need to buy any more devs though. They have a ton already that aren't doing anything (that we know of). Ready at Dawn is a posibility as well.

What Sony has been doing lately is making contracts with upcoming and new developers to make digital games. I don't know if they're interested in buying any more studios.
