A new generation just started. Can't expect every game to take full advantage of the new hardware. Publishers don't want to just let go of the 160m userbase on PS3/360.

Except when multiple of the (larger) games from the PS2/XB era were carried over to the PS3/360, and now from PS3/360 to PS4/XBO. I'm not saying this is wrong, I'm saying it's wrong to accuse Nintendo/Retro of not doing something new and then act as if everyone else does things different/new all the time, or even some of the time.

I didn't even know this was originally a Wii game. News to me.

I was under the impression that "bombs" are games that don't make a profit.

Did you read the OP? It's might as well be plastered all over.

Anyway, yes it was.

I did read the OP. It doesn't say this was originally developed for the Wii. It just said it was a sequel to game on the Wii.

But the others ARE doing something new. That much is fact. At least they are doing more on that front than Ninty is. Its not about whos doing the same, but who is trying to do something new.

Nintendo did do something new, it's called the gamepad. :L

The issue too is I think people are just not as hyped for Nintendo games anymore.

When Twilight Princess came out, it was a HUGE hit and had TONS of hype. When Super Mario Galaxy came out, people were anticipating it GREATLY. Super Smash Bros. Brawl had midnight launches that went around malls.

On the other hand, Skyward Sword came and went. Most people don't even know Super MArio 3D World is out. The hype for Smash Bros. Wii U is nil.

Nintendo just doesn't have the punch it used to. Donkey Kong Country Returns came out when the Wii was hot and people were actually WAITING for a new DKC game. Today, hardly anyone cares (unfortunately).

i thought it was just me. The new Smash doesnt have anywhere close to the hype of the last one. Hell its getting the least amount of attention from any in the series including the original. Which is strange because it will be the first time the series graces a handheld. One would think that would warrant more buzz. Maybe people were let down by the last one?

Doesn't matter what you call it, the fact is it's new! Kinda like how Nintendo is calling the Super Mario Bros. series new, even though it's older than I am!
