I agree. From the N64 collect-a-thons (SM64, Banjo) to PS1 Spyro, Crash, Ape Escape. That gen had the best collection of 3D platformers, nowadays 3D pure platformers like Galaxy which I liked, are few and far between.

Ratchet & Clank is good too, though it has more emphasis on weapons than platforming.

Have only played Ratchet & Clank (I think it was the first one for PS3) a single time, briefly, maybe I should take a further look someday. I usually think a 3D Platform/Adventure hybrid like that works out well so those games might work for me.

The original R&C has aged horribly IMO.  Up Your Arsenal and Going Commando are both amazing, but I don't know if you'll want to buy the collection before trying the games out, so A Crack in Time might be a good one to start with. While it probably isn't my favorite, I consider it the best in the series, if that makes sense.

I'd say 3d platformers. I love both sly and ratchet, not to mention mario. When it comes to 2d I'll mostly stay on mario and DK. So thats 3 against 2 that are inferior.

that means you havent played the 3d mario games?


I'll tell you more, I haven't played a 2D Mario game since Super Mario Deluxe on GBC, I didn't have a Nintendo console since GBA.
