Forums - Gaming - Infamous is dominating Titanfall on Social Media/Youtube *Update*

I think InFamous is gonna outsell TitanFall at launch, if only because of the install base difference and because TF won't sell much outside of NA.

However, since online games have better legs than single-player ones, I would' be surprised if TF ends up outselling InFamous in the long term.

if you want to talk about social media, use gametrailers gdex, that's a better indicator of a day by analysis, not some YouTube video where most views are either bought or spammed by bots. Titanfall has been consistently the most talk about since like January, it hit around 250k mentions during the beta

right now titanfall 22k,  infamours 3.6k

also titanfall media is divided through 3  main outlets, MS,EA and respawn, aswell as countless gaming sites.

GDEX is a joke.

This is kinda a joke too, but GDEX is just laughable with its stats.

Irrelevant, actual sales data is what matters, and before there's sales data there's only pre-order data that can give a reasonably objective guide as to likely game sales. And in that Titanfall is dominating Second Sons.

People have to come to terms with the fact that TF is MS's last best hope for a substantial boost in Xb one sales until either a substantial price cut or Halo 5, so MS is going to promote the shit out of it. TF is also in a genre that for almost the last decade has consistently been the highest selling genre on non-Nintendo platforms. And on Xbox platforms the FPS genre is much more popular than the open world action/platformer/TPS genre on PS platforms. The end result being TF will probably sell a lot more games on Xb one than Second Sons will on PS4.

In fact I wish people would moderate sales potential hype for SS, because when it sells less than TF the MS fans (ably supported in this round by Nintendo fans) will just use that hype as a stick with which to beat PS and SS and say things like "people only use PS4 to watch porn."

Tbh I would have though Titanfall would have had more seen as its on 3 platforms. I guess us Sony boys really want something decent to play :)

You mean a channel with 75k subscribers has less views than one with 2.3m subscribers? NO WAAAYYYYYY

You can't really compare video views when all the infamous videos are on the sony channel which has 2 million plus subscibers, and all the titanfall videos are from a recently made channel only for titanfall videos.

That's the worst possible excuse ever.

I'd hardly call that dominating. Or relevant.

Titanfall

4 videos = 8.1m Views

Infamous

4 videos = 10.9m Views

And, by the way. Titanfall's views drop bigtime after 4, while infamous is still high, so the gap will only widen.

Meh, I won't base the sales of software on the Youtube views. Or wait... Knack got only 1.000.000 views and is dominating Japan! Damn you Knack!

Yeah, single-player focused games drop off quickly because of mass re-selling. While good online multiplayer games are owned longer.
