If things were going well, and there's something to salvage, they'll salvage the IP and use whatever they can salvage on a later project. Nintendo has done it tons of times. Kirby Return to Dreamland was going to be for the Gamecube originally, for example. And Super Smash Bros. was going to be a totally different fighting game without Nintendo characters at all, and for the Super Nintendo. Stuff like this happens, but companies don't throw away projects that easily. I've even seen Microsoft say stuff to this effect that they don't just throw stuff away like that. It is really discouraging news though. We won't see this IP for a long time most likely, and it'll undergo substantial changes.

u think people know how much money sony makes from its financials arm and its entertainment arm? That's around 3 billion in a year of profits. Their imaging division makes a good amount of money too around 200 million a year and I expect more now with them going into medical. Playstation is profiting at around 500 million - maybe even a billion if the ps4 keeps up the momentum. Mobile is breaking even or is even making a profit now they had the #3 mobile revenue last year behind samsung and apple. loss leading tv is being split off and loss maker vaio has been sold. Sony is actually in a better position now that it doesn't have to subsidize those loss making divisions. Also so-net wholly owned by sony recently is setting up gigabit internet in Japan and they make a good healthy profit as well.

I really dont want sony to close. Competition is good. But they are in real trouble. Why the hell did sony sell ps4 at a loss? It was only time before it affected their first party. And their will be more cancelled projects yet. Sony and playstation is changing and wont be the same as ps of old. They need profit fast.

PS is profitable and selling at record pace, theres no need to worry.

This will of been cancelled cos either it wasnt good or the end was not insight and they didnt want another Last guardian project on their hands.
