Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft says Xbox One price cuts are not out of desperation

Ya know... I took a read through some of this thread to see who would get banned during it... was shocked to see no moderation,

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/members.php?name=&gender=&keyword=&country=&type=Banned&order=Last+logged+in

On checking the list tho I see almost all the active posters are already banned, gonna be a quiet next few days.

as for the OP tho, this type of bundle was probably talked about long before the game was ever shaken on to make it exclusive to the Xbox family of systems.

Microsoft may not be dropping their ties with Nokia, but Nokia's dropping their ties with them.  Nokia just announced Android based phones.

MS does not have 'ties' with Nokia, they OUTRIGHT OWN all of Nokia cellphone business.  Nokia releasing an Android phone is MS releasing an Android phone.

The remaining independent Nokia company does not produce any cellphones, all they do is cellular network gear, maps, and IP licencing.

MS makes MUCH more money from Android phone licencing anyways, so releasing one themselves is hardly a big change.

By offering their own 'add ons' to Android that promote compatability with WIndows Phone ecosystem, maybe they can draw more customers to WP.

You are right.  I just found it very odd that they'd release an Android based device for the reasons you mentioned.  Slimebeast's comments got me thinking and I wonder if they may be thinking of abandoning Balmer's vision of Windows beta devices and their dysfunctional eco system.  P.S. making an Android phone isn't going to get people to switch over to Window Mobile.

Windows phones are way the heck more stable than Android. Buy a 100$ WIndows Phone and a 100$ Android Phone and see whch one is faster and more stable.

I haven't used an Android OS that wasn't stable since the first, and I've been developing on them since Gingerbread...

x360 wasnt any kind of failure, and xbo is doing better. Its not like the ps4, but the numbers are not as dire as some make it out to be. It will get better as the price drops, but I think it will be a better turn out if/when the kinect is dropped. its not propelling the system at all at this point, its impairing it.

Like always people is making a drama of this. OMG is just a drop of 21 pounds and that in england is not that much.

That in first place and in second place XOne is selling much better than X360 8 years ago what means that XOne's sales aren't bad. Is just that PS4 is selling so beast that makes them look bad

Online on PS4 costs money because its so expensive ROFL. Even tho they just want to have control over a games online to shut it down and force people to migrate to the next installment of a series.
Thats also the reason why they and most console devs decided to NOT have player hosted servers (like on PC) on purpose.
Player hosted servers for everyone/people playing with friends only and official servers for people that want tournaments etc would have made the online fee an obvious lie. They even said that one of their biggest mistakes last gen was to not have an online fee.

So what?

People say alot of things ;)

Eh.... So they are supposed to pay to keep servers online for games that are no longer making money indefinetly? Somebody did not go to Business 101 lol

Somebody did not go to school at all?

Ask someone to read bold for you please :)

And some will belive them. This price cut was forced on Microsoft due to the PS4's overwhelming succes.

no one cuts the price just because, they know the are losing a lot of market share.

^ lol that post is priceless... Yeah like they gonna dump Nokia before finalizing the acquisition and having invested billions LOL LOL LOL...

and what shareholders... The below 2% cumulated ones?? Shit if they got their way what about Sony and the biggest shareholder holding more than 6% wanting to split it....????

and yet even if it was remotely true... It could not happen without a GA and a vote... And even then it'd be madness without a buyer...

You sound desperate.

desperate about what ???? fact is there are proportionally more shareholders and analyst that think Sony should be split than XB or the device diviision should be axed....

so I don't have any reason to be desperate just amuzed would be the right term....

another fact is there is no way a company like MS can survive and especially grow on the very long term with just enterprise products especially if the private PC market keeps shrinking.... and the enterprise market stays in economic innertia for a little while longer.... no matter how many analyst or shareholders try to spin it, they need to diversify and not focus and core business unless you are talking about short term returns which is exactly what those few investors are after and analyst are talking about.... but MS is not a shortterm investment for most investors.... it gains very little value in the short term it's been like that for more than a decade now.... MS stock is a dividend stock and a long term investment for the vast majority of investors none of which are really impacted by the hardware division so far....

my parents S3 and S4 begs to differ.... it has only went downhill when it comes to OS speed.... fact is android is linux done wrong or how google can fuck up everything they touch with almost no exception since they got out of the search engine only business...

and when you see what the minimum spec android requires to run as smooth than the competition it shows how badly optimized that OS is.... fact is WP8 performs better at lower spec than android... there is no arguments here...  now that doesn't really make up for the lack of some features.... but 8.1 is coming to fix that in a few months...
