Translation: Sony, despite selling the most consoles at a loss, is running out of money.
Microsoft, despite selling less consoles also at a loss, has tons of it.
Soon, all the people praising Sony's first-party devs will talk about how crappy those same devs
are now that they work for MS.

Xbox one will get better games?

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I doubt they fired the big talents. We would have heard some names by now otherwise.

Some people pretty desperate for any sort of win right now.

How does this relate to MS hiring ex-Sony devs?

Don't want to be rude but stay on topic please.

That's even awesomer. So MS is making money off less console sales while Sony needs to sell SW after each console to make a profit. Who's stupid now?

Who, the Sony fans trying to pretend it doesn't matter that Sony is forced to shutter one of their biggest first party developers because they're broke as f**k?

SSM is not shuttering. They removed a team, and are replacing it with new people. That means they didn't like the team that was there, OR that team wasn't designed to make the kinds of games SSM makes. SSM makes God of War, but they also made Journey. They are a huge dev and they are actually moving to a bigger studio

They are expanding, not downsizing.

MS needs hard workers and people with experience on big budget projects.

New MS studios are full of talent.

It's not being shut, did you even read the OP or any of the articles?  It's selling off one division, while still hiring.  Most likely explanation seems like the new IP wasn't up to scratch so they cancelled it and let the people working on it go.  So any staff Microsoft hire have been deemed by SSM to be surplus to requirements. Hardly a massive victory hiring the dreggs from another company is it?
