Get rid of Motomu Toriyama he has no idea what he's doing. FF13 saga is totally avg, I've played all three (platted 2 of them) and I still have no idea what the hell is going on in that game....It's a fricken mess.

I agree they need to get rid of Toriyama or at least not let him near the story. He ruined The 3rd Birthday (Parasite Eve 3) as well.

I'm not too hopeful on FFXV & Nomura. The first KH story was iconic, but the ones after were a convoluted mess.

The problem with KH story and FF13 is that they try to continue the story. If they made each title a stand alone like old FF's were with new characters and story then it wouldn't turn into a mess, where now nothing really flows together and the story doesn't make sense anymore.

I love convoluted. Gimme some of that. I have no love for simplistic storylines.

Stop doing sequels is the best bet. If you think about it we should be on Final Fantasy 17 by now.

Eh, I'm of two minds. XIII-2 was kind of necessary to save face after XIII, and as a business decision I can understand sticking to one engine per console to keep dev costs down. One engine probably means one art style, which can mean sequels because it will be hard to distinguish screenshots otherwise.

I don't mind sequels when done correctly. Final Fantasy hasn't really done any sequels which blew me away, but they have done prequels and spinoffs (Crisis Core, Duodecim) which did. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, anyway.

True. XIII on its own was alright as was KH - I don't know what went wrong with The 3rd Birthday however. Kojima mentioned the same thing about why the MGS story is so confusing. He didn't have it planned out after the first game, and even admitted about that MGSV will have inconsistencies.

I really don't see how Xenoblade's story was any better than FFXIII. Enlighten me please (if anyone agrees with the author).
Sure FFXIII was oft confusing but Xenoblade is super cheesy.
The only way Xenoblade wins is probably because it tries to tell a simpler story and thus prevents to tangle itself the way FFXIII did.
So I don't even think the author actually grasped what was wrong with FFXIII.

I don't really think xenoblades story is  great, I don't really think FFXIII's is greateither.  Both have a lot of interesting things.  That have WTF moments and throw logic out the window in them.

But both being not having great stories doesn't make them great imo. :P.

I still like all 4 games though a lot though. And I like LR's mechanics more than most of the series...

Rename Bravely Default Final Fantasy 15.

Nothing wrong with FF, just one numbered entry was terrible, 15 looks amazing.

Yes, its like i have been saying. Square needs to fire the FFXIII team including Toryama. They have no clue.
Square will continue to have any brand they work on be nuked by that team. Seriously... they have no clue. When asked why the mixed reviews they blamed the time aspect beeing daunting. But as we know, theres even a way to work around that. Itsnot a problem at all. Not only clueless as they think gamers are stupid.

Whoa they need to keep the graphics team.

FF15 looks badass though!

Ah, final fantasy... i whish there was still hope for you, maybe we should just accept that the golden age of videogames is long gone, ah those were good times... - In regards to gamespot article, there's nothing we can say, much less do, that'll make them fix final fantasy, they'll keep doing it the way the want to do it to please the audiences they think it's wise to please.

''-I would love to be able to say ''final fantasy XV will be the renascence of the franchise, i know it'' but im amfraid to try, because i feel... i fear, for me, that the only thing that would come out of my mouth, of my heart, would be 'let them do as they please with their precious franchise... i don't care anymore'.-''
